Welcome to EP216 of the NDYD Radio Show. I know I missed last week show so to make up for it I made this one twice as long and I have to admit it turned out to be one of my favorites episodes to record this year. For no particular reason except that every track in this show is the kind of track that will drag me to dance floor. In other words these are the kind of tracks that really get me going. I am so happy that producers are sticking with making fun groovy disco infused tracks as oppose to the EDM'ish tracks that were dominating the dance floors before the pandemic. Now clubs, promoters, and people  just want to get their groove on and have fun when dancing. I'm all for that. Enjoy!

This week we are joined by Puerto Rican DJ and producer, Daisybelle, whose origins have influenced her groovy, deep, soulful style.

Her impressively eclectic productions span nu-disco, house, deep house, and world, all possessing a strong groove. As a DJ she has played regularly at Fabric, London, and has supported artists including Jimpster, Christian Burkhardt, Nick Curly & Dana Ruh. 

She recently joined forces with Tasty Lopez on Future Disco with nu-disco summer anthem, ‘Starlight’. The track has received a euphoric peak-time party remix from Never Dull which will be released on the 3rd of September.

Over the last few months I've had a few listeners reach out and ask when was I going to do another  lounge/downtempo show. As you know, DJs hate getting requests but for this I had to oblige.  I listen to this style of music all day long as I work and it's true that it has been a while since I done a set with this vibe. So here it is, almost two hours of music to help you relax and enjoy while taking a bubble bath - or doing other chill activities :)

The NDYD Radio Show is back this week with the usual faster more upbeat tempo. I'm glad that people liked last week's downtempo episode and that a bunch of new followers jumped on board because of it but I don't want to mislead any of the new people that that is our usual format. This episode is more the norm but from time to time I do like to take a trip to the lounge, hip hop, edits, and disco side. I promise that more episodes ike that are coming but I can't ignore the tons of great new music coming out weekly such as some of the new tracks in this episode (with some edits thrown in). After working in electronic music for 25 years, notably co-founding the hugely influential MN2S records in 1995, the UK-based artist dipped his toes in the world of DJing and production. Since his debut release on  Tropical Disco Records in 2018 Moodena has topped both the digital and vinyl charts as well as receiving support from the likes of Joey Negro, Danny Krivit, and Chez Damier.

His DJ sets which have seen him play across Europe, Asian, and South America, combine everything from Disco to Deep and Jazz to Soulful moments.

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
