Pepper (@pepper_playhouse) was an OG guest to the show 4 years ago - https://soundcloud.com/ndyd-rs/ndyd-140 and she is back with an incredible selection of tunes that shows that in the past 4 years she hasn't slow down one bit. Pepper is still involved in anything creative in the City of Angels from fashion, to film, to music and blends all of it in a seamless way. I am happy also that the person who is taking us across the 250th milestone line is  someone who is becoming a regular on the show, my friend Pepper (@pepper_playhouse). She is very in tune with what the show has always been about from the beginning and this set captures that spirit no doubt. I mean Pepper had me hooked as soon as I heard the first bars of the classic 'Sugarman'  from Rodriguez(the first track)and just took me on a ride from there.

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
