Holy sh** we've surpassed 300 episodes! FIrst thing first, a huge thank you to NDYD label boss @krissantiago for blessing us last week with that milestone episode. It kind set the bar for the next episodes with that proper dance floor feel. EP-301 tries to continue with the tone that Kris set and keeps you on the dance floor - or dancing while you clean your house, or driving, or working, or whatever it is you are doing and need some motivation. Plenty of new fire that aims at making you groove.

This episode is also a preview of next weekend where I have the opportunity to return to the shoreline stage at the Day Trip festival in Long Beach. I will be sharing the stage with two of my closest friends @djdavidbullock and @jask-thaisoul. Also on the lineup is one of my favorite producers and DJ - @mr-v-official. The festival is sold out so if you got tickets consider yourself lucky.

Next week, while I'm in Long Beach, we have a returning artist who is one of the OG guest we had on the program 7 years ago (EP-80). I heard his current set and I promise it will be a treat that continues this ready for the dance floor trend.

The NDYD Radio Show EP301

If you thought there was no NDYD Show this week well, surprise surprise. My very good friend and brotha from anotha @jask-thaisoul, that I hadn't seen since the pandemic, just happened to be in LA this past weekend because he was playing at the Day Trip Festival in Long Beach (so was I, but more on that later).  After he killed at the festival he decided to stay in town for a couple of more days and as usual I had the honor to  host him at my place. So what happens when you get Jask and RT together after all this time? A B2B of course! 

As soon as we were back from the festival and got to my place we took out our thumb drives, turned on my gear and wing it. I am very happy with the result and am so glad that nothing has changed. We still vibe together just like we always have for all these years. 

If you been following the show from the early days you know that Jask has been a guest many times and this is not the first B2B we've done together. The tribute mix we did for Depeche Mode a few years ago is one of the most popular and replayed special sets on here. Did you hope to hear some rare DM bootlegs this time? I promise that you won't be disappointed (and a bunch of other unreleased gems).

As I was saying, I also had the opportunity to play at this festival and that set was also recorded (imagine that)and I will put it up next week.

After taking two weeks off from the show, to give room to the amazing guests artists that were scheduled, I am back in my element. A huge thank you to the talented Justin Paul (@justinpaul) and Mario Dubbz (@mariodubbz)for taking control of the turntables while I was out. They are both OG veterans of the show and this was not their first NDYD rodeo.

I was itching to play again and bring you back to the underground. I think EP305 achieves that by bordering that Deep Garage vibe that is dance floor ready. I hope you feel that way when you hit play :)

Resident and co-host @wahinedj took over the full 2 hours to kick off her birthday month and because it's #libraseason she showcased balanced energies with the first hour of the show dedicated to the eclectic daytime world music vibes that are at the core of her love for global grooves. The second hour focused on the harder, darker, sexier nightclub energy that she brings to her late-night sets. Could it be a result of being a late October baby born on the cusp of #scorpio? Wahine 2 Hour Special - Spin City, Ep. 307

Co-host @wahine_dj returns for her monthly mix with special guest, Sydney-born, Amsterdam-based @shadylady_bec who she was introduced to online via a mutual friend who likes to sprinkle fairy dust and support female DJs in times of need (i.e. the covid lockdown period). Since lockdown restrictions have been lifted, Wahine has watched her talented friend spread her wings, playing ever-increasing clubs, stages, and festivals, while staying true to what moves her musically.

Ricardo Torres is a West Coast DJ whose sound blends deep, soulful house and disco with the smooth, sun-kissed energy of Los Angeles. His mixes are crafted for true dance floor devotees—uplifting, groovy, and deeply rooted in the underground.

Ricardo began his DJ journey in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, later discovering Chicago House and falling in love with its raw emotion and rhythm.
