Justin's last visit was on EP-80. If we are now on 303 than it certainly has been a minute. Justin is a very talented artist who is a music producer, DJ, music teacher at university, video editor, photographer, etc. He is the definition of multi-talented but unlike people who are like that he is good at all of them. You will certainly notice his DJ chops on this set which is technically perfect and a fantastic selection including some of his own music with his collaboration with The Model band.

FIrst thing first. A huge thank you to brother @cloakdaggernyc for taking over the show last week. As always he didn't disappoint with his beautiful Nu Disco set in which he played some of his own tracks. This def ain't last time you hear from him as he is part of the NDYD fam. 

Cloak sets the bar high when he is a guest so i'm gonna try to keep up with him and get your ears attention by taking you to the deep end of the NDYD pool. The show starts strong with one of pour favorite artist that we haven't heard from in a while. The amazing Lovebirds, on Glitterbox Recordings no less, with their new release 'Shut The Lights Out'. Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
