The stand out track in this episode is from an artist that I have shared the decks with before and who is one of the nicest human in this scene - the amazing and talented @djcolette. I am also privileged to call her a friend for many years. Colette has earn her place in modern House Music history as a producer, vocalist, and a DJ. Her new interpretation of the classic song from The Police 'Message in a Bottle' is the Bee's Knees and with remixes by Demarkus Lewis, Pete Moss, and Local Options it just solidifies it as a staple of a DJ set.

Welcome back to a new NDYD Radio episode. I am also back after missing the last two weeks because of my work obligations. A massive thank you to @finaldjs for taking over the show last week with an incredible set.

I am so glad to be back and do my favorite thing in the world which is to curate and blend some of the new deep house / house tracks that are floating out there.  On a related note, I was at the Meta main campus for the first time since working for them  in Menlo Park California this week. The place is amazing and the campus is almost as big as a small town with a square/downtown area where the cafeteria(s) are. I was pleasantly surprised that when I walked into the main cafeteria, the house sound system was playing rare remixes from artists like Armand Van Helden and other classic underground kats. I was like 'yeah, I made the right decision to work here' :)

Anyways, it inspired me and made me miss doing the radio show. Enjoy it as much as I did.

Welcome back to the NDYD Radio Show. A tad late because I was in the middle of doing another set for the radio station KXLU here in Los Angeles. Once they air the show early this week I will post the archive here because it's so deep. I really like how it turned out. Nothing to take away from EP322 because I also like how this one turned out. It's ready for the dance floor and if this episode doesn't make you move then you should probably check your vitals :) 

Speaking of shaking it on the dance floor if you are in LA Sunday Nov 19th then stop by Station 1640 in Hollywood as I'll have the opportunity to close out the night at that club right after the legendary Derrick Carter does his thing. FIrst thing first. A huge thank you to brother @cloakdaggernyc for taking over the show last week. As always he didn't disappoint with his beautiful Nu Disco set in which he played some of his own tracks. This def ain't last time you hear from him as he is part of the NDYD fam. 

Cloak sets the bar high when he is a guest so i'm gonna try to keep up with him and get your ears attention by taking you to the deep end of the NDYD pool. The show starts strong with one of pour favorite artist that we haven't heard from in a while. The amazing Lovebirds, on Glitterbox Recordings no less, with their new release 'Shut The Lights Out'. From there we raise the tempo a little bit more with artists like Scott Diaz, Turbojazz, Kevin Yost, Soledrifter, and many more.

This Music Is Not My Own

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
