Feels like I was here posting EP383 yesterday but it already been a week! Not mad about it cause I love to do these. A bunch of new music in this episode but what stands out is you will hear through out some surprise edits and remixes that are unfortunately not available to purchase or stream but that you will hear here. One from a d3ep brother, SW (who usually plays before my show on d3ep), one from a past and coming up future guest, Chugin Edits, and also one from yours truly that I did with my WCC brother Torin Rea about 15 years ago and that people still play out. The Black Light Disco Show bites into the bagel that is the My House Radio airwaves and blasting a beam of happiness out of your speakers to massage your ears. 

This week it’s the turn of the deadly duo of Cole Kutz and Ste Hendry Esteban (our eminent Doctors of Sonic Research currently resident in BLD Towers). And what a two hour extravaganza these fine gentlemen have lined up for your listening pleasure. 

We start the first hour in the safe company of Cole Kutz, who has a super-tasty selection of funk-filled delights from the likes of KS French, Rayko, AIMES, Kort, Soul Central and Atmosfear / Dr Packer it’s high fives and fist pumps all round.

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
