The NDYD Radio Show is back this week. EP-362 is a monster of an episode. I dug out some of my old gig playlists from 2010 to about 2015 and picked 40 tracks that were my, and the Heads, favorites from back then. If you were an underground clubber in those years you will recognize some  tracks that were burning the House dance floors of those years. Rare originals, remixes, and edits from your favorite artists.

The NDYD Radio Show EP362

Welcome, welcome, welcome dear Soundcloud NDYD Radio listener. After over 300 episodes of the show (since 2016) you will get to hear for the first time on this one something you have never heard on the program before. It's not new or music. Well, yeah there will be plenty of music but for the first time ever you will hear your humble's host voice. For real. My voice is not a spring chicken  on the show as I've been doing that when I do the live version on d3ep.com but never done it on the Soundcloud versions.

I finally got a pro microphone (as you can see by the episode's cover of my setup) so I might as well use it ha ha. The talking here on Soundcloud is left to a minimum just mentioning the tracks worthy of me talking about and also mention when we have special House Music events here in Los Angeles. I know there a good bunch of listeners here in The City of Angels and near by.

Speaking of special events - On New Year's Day (NYD) I will have the extreme honor to open up this day party for two of my good friends @miguelmigs1 (Miguel Migs) and @djcolette (Colette). These two are family and I couldn't ask for a better way to start 2025 than with these two and the best House Music around.  Tickets and info on my Instagram (ricktowers).

Hot To The Touch Episode 240 With MartinMax

My hour was one of those unpredictable affairs when I’d just bought a load of music and was playing exclusively from that - a bucket of assorted tracks that were new to me, although not necessarily new new. Big basslines gave way to cosmic chug, and it mostly hung together surprisingly well! 
Hour 2 was a really fun new mix from Flick C, who recently did a mix for my Funkier Sessions series and has now returned for a radio slot. Big, big tunes in this one - from Jamiroquai to Sophie Ellis-Bextor, pumped up versions of Curtis Mayfield and Michael McDonald and a whole lot more, you’re in for a high energy hour!

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
