Embodying a profound and instinctual allure, Javier Salazar (@javrsalazar) remains an enigmatic force in the contemporary music landscape. Founders of klape nunsen (@klapenunsen), their sound is characterized by elegant and soaring rhythms creating immersion through a continued dedication to diversifying their selection, blending genres and atmospheres. The two are also part of La Vallée Electrique (@Melifera_Records) in which they shape a cohesive whole among the artists of the festival. Records from the duo are available on Oslated and their own imprint, drawing listeners into a smooth current of sounds.

We are super thrilled to announce we have reached a great milestone in our DSS journey. We'd like to thank everyone who joined and supported our project during the past years. On to the next 100!

Proud to present DSS 100, brought with care by Pianeti Sintetici, a conceptual concept by Davide Perrone (Primal Code). It draws inspiration from the factories of Magrathea, a planet in Douglas Adams' classic space opera The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where artificial planets are manufactured on commission.

Davide says. "I like to imagine the howls of creatures inhabiting solar systems outside our own. Rarefied atmospheres, alien sequences, and unfamiliar tonal scales. So, I see Pianeti Sintetici as an open-ended design research project where I can explore these inspirations."

Liminality

The sun had been gone for 181 days.

That was the nature of the world they had chosen. Gliese-7d, a rogue planet captured in an elliptical orbit around a dying red star, was a place of extremes. Half the year bathed in an anemic, ember-like glow; half the year swallowed by a night so absolute that it numbed the senses. The colonists called it The Verge—the razor-thin band that lay between those two realms, a twilight belt that drifted across the surface with the slow inevitability of a glacier.

The first hints of light were now visible at the horizon, a soft cerulean glow teasing the return of the star. The darkness had its own kind of peace, stretching across the sky like a cathedral vault. In the absence of the sun, the cosmos itself seemed closer, the band of the Milky Way a frozen river of light. There had been something strangely pure about it, as if existence had been reduced to its simplest terms—heat, breath, motion. And now, with the return of the light, that purity would be lost.

There was always a moment—this moment—when the threshold was crossed between the long night and the long day, a sliver of time where the world was neither one thing nor the other. The darkness receded, the light approached. For 181 days, there had been longing for warmth. Now, there was reluctance to surrender the cold.

The vapor of breath drifted into the first true light of the new cycle. Then, the darkness was behind.

His style is twofold: on one side, a dynamic club persona—spontaneous and versatile—ranging from early warm-ups to peak-hour sets, blending classic house, techno, UK influences, and experimental sounds across any BPM. On the other, a more introspective approach focused on mood and context, exploring ambient, ethereal, and experimental music. This duality showcases the depth and versatility of his artistic expression.

“...Divine Ritual is an transdisciplinary project that moves between the dimensions of performance art and live creation. The experimental landscape is primarily constituted by the relationship between performers and spectators, within a creative path aimed at generating a ritual. The spectator, with their presence, will be a founding part of the creative design of the ritual itself. The ritual, which draws on the essential elements of Greek mythology, particularly the myth of Persephone and the Eleusinian Mysteries, is the archetypal experience in which sound and body are fused together, energy and matter converge in a single language, and full immersion between the terrestrial world and the cosmos is achieved. In an experimental process, the manipulation of electronic music sound will rhythmically punctuate the various moments, reaching a peak of tension and sonic pressure, determining the foundations of the ritual action, serving as a moment of ablution and then of expressive effusion for the performers, exploring the possibility of alerting the body enveloped in an uninterrupted sonic envelope and exposed to a collective vibration in which it is impossible to perceive a separation between performers and spectators. From listening to this inspiration, and guided by intuition and perception, the performers will linger in an empirical area with the sole support of three dramaturgical keys: DESCENT, SEARCH, ASCENT (as in the diachronic sequence of the Eleusinian Mysteries). This dramaturgical fabric serves as a generative principle: the architecture of the event will be articulated in an open itinerary of meta-spatio-temporal experiment...”
