Frames, my first release as Katahimikan, is a 4 tracks EP I composed during my Christmas holidays in 2014, which gave me the opportunity to explore new areas of my passion, and, being far from my studio, have an extreme minimalistic approach. 

Almost every sound you hear has been created sampling 4 of my own past tracks, so each one is the reflection of a track from my past, which leads to something completely different.

This track is part of my Katahimikan release, "Rewind".

Rewind is about going backwards, which could also mean going back in time. I processed most layers of every track using different kinds of gramophone simulations, to have as a result, a broken lo-fi effect reminiscent of old audio machines.

Katahimikan - Halcyon

With 9 tracks, Matter is one of the most challenging projects I ever worked on: much of the time I spent working on the album, I've been listening and relistening to every track, shaping and tweaking every little detail and sound until I could feel the right vibe, the one which always represented Need a Name for me as the beginning of my musical journey, but mixed up with many technical aspects I managed to learn during the past years, also thanks to my work on Chasing Dreams, which allowed me to improve my artistic self-expression.

Matter's melodies are pretty minimalistic, for the most part reminiscent of "Sizzling Plucks", the album that really defined Need a Name and its spacey and dreamy vibes, but with a maniacal cure for all the minimal details.

Need a Name - Aerial

An ethereal journey throughout a world devoid of humans, but kept alive by its last remaining singing souls in search of a peaceful place among the stars. One where our memory infinitely echoes in space and time. 

With great focus on minimalistic piano ambience, flowing together with lo-fi evolutions and reverberating guitars, "Travelers" is one of my most ambitious projects. Its purpose is to take you on a journey through your dreams and memories; a reminder of how valuable life and humanity truly are.

As the transient summer solstice has reached its peak we now stand on the summit of life as our nurturing mother is beaming with bliss and exuberance. The slumbering winter cold feels like a distant myth as light reigns our northern lands. We are pleased to honor this joyful moment by presenting to you and the divine Sun our tenth elixir.

'Skärvor av din helhet skimrar genom allt' [transl.. 'Shards of your wholeness shimmers through everything'] by Toffes Värld (formerly known as Kris Dubinsky] is a tale in which familiar environments are permeated by mystery as a crackling perception of reality awakens from the campfire. When the winds arise, our sails rise with it, taking us drifting deep into ourselves while the fire struggles to keep us warm and safe. But the winds are strong.

As we are washed up at the end of the river, exhausted by the long and uncanny journey that took us so far beyond, we're received by the comfort of our rising sun. Rising with it on to our feet we recognize suddenly where we truly belong and the memories of the bizarre vistas of yesterday will forever be there to remind us.

“High & Low” b/w “Let Me Out” is the second official single release by The Vacant Lots. Formed by Jared Artaud and Brian MacFadyen, the duo takes as much inspiration from Bo Diddley and The Stooges as it does from Andy Warhol and Arthur Rimbaud. They have developed their own sound, producing an immense, unrelenting, sonic assault with just two people, combining a minimalist aesthetic of rock n roll with hypnotic guitar riffs, Native American influenced drumming, electronic drones, poetry-driven lyrics and live visual projections.
