Bella Lova - The Killer

Brophy’s Law release their all time live favourite live track ”The Bachelor” , a strong traditional and authentic folk punk classic sound with an alternative edge. As the John Peel centre in the UK appropiatly describes Brophy’s Law, ”Where the Pogues meet the Clash”.
Brophy says he wrote this at the age of 18 in the shoes of  Shane McGowen heavily influenced by growing up watching the Pogues performing in their glory days on the London scene. They sang about the drinking holes of London and more drinking, a great recipe for this bar room classic ”The Bachelor” a song that paints a picture of a working class guy who’s surrenders his life to the devil in the jar , avoids marriage and drinks himself insane.

Lockdown

Not very well mixed and very bad vocals but we didn´t care at the time. First drum programming experiment, I tried to nail exactly what the drummer played drawing midi from practice session recordings. Guitars were recorded from a small Marshall amp but I don´t remember how bass was recorded, it´s probably a DI. Drums needed more work, and also the mixing could be improved. Maybe I will remix this sometime.
