Leipzig-based duo Yarn Init make their debut on Mind Controlled Rectifier with the label’s first ever physical release, ‘Ill Compound’. The 6 track record is a testament to Yarn Init’s mastery of mood, with the pair creating progressive grooves that build towards subtly deep and intense center points across various styles.

For our 10th release and 5th anniversary, we've involved some good friends of the label whose work we greatly admire.

Greco-German power couple Local Suicide has teamed up with kindred spirit Skelesys to deliver two killer original tracks for the 'No Evidence' EP.

The title track, inspired by old detective novels, blends Local Suicide's signature dark and moody sound with Skelesys' haunting melodies and subtle grooves.

'Weird Encounters' conjures up heavy Berlin vibes (no coincidence, as all three musicians currently make the city their home), taking the listener on a girl's disorienting journey while lost at a party.

'No Evidence' gets the remix treatment from both Intergalactic Gary (Viewlexx), interpreting it as a hypnotic future classic EBM version, and Samo head honcho Facets, who offers a high-energy, arpeggiated take on the original. Anatolian Weapons (Beats in Space) deconstructs 'Weird Encounters' and transforms it into a full-on rave machine.

No Evidence is out March 4th on limited vinyl and digital.

After the great impact of the recent anniversary compilation, Playground Records continues its march at a steady pace with 'A Cow Called Belle', the new reference by the Swedish duo Elfenberg.
Viktor and Henrik propose an EP full of reminiscences of 90s house and acid rave, combining mysterious jungle elements, an intensive groove and lysergic arrangements.

On the remixes side, the album has the enchanting hand of the sorcerer from Guadalajara Iñigo Vontier who leads the original version of the track that gives the EP its name into a total trance. And the Brooklyn legend Juan MacLean, former DFA founding member and current Correspondant ambassador, who reinterprets 'Ravers Association' with just the right touch to break any main stage.

“A Cow Called Belle'' is, bluntly, a varied, balanced and forceful album. A true toolbox for the DJ's pocket.

Collaboration alert! Two of the most prominent artists amid the so-called Indie Dance & Dark Disco scene, Radial Gaze & Ludviq joined forces for the first time and came up with a mythical EP coming soon on ODD Pleasures in both digital and vinyl formats. Inspired by Hera, Perseus, and Hercules, the “Ruins of Argos” EP delivers its message via three imperative originals and two outstanding remixes made by none other than Colossio (SXDNS025) and Mishell (SXDNS228).

Before landing on ODD, Guadalajara-born Barcelona-based Ludviq had a solid string of works published on Altered Rhythm Experience, Kyma Komplex, Melomana, and his very own Bonkers – yeah, we are talking only about his 2024 output, have that in mind. The Russian duo Radial Gaze, on the other hand, are finally starting their release season after well-received appearances on Eskimo, Urge To Dance, NEIN, and Kinetika Music in 2023.

In turn, Colossio, the mastermind behind the remix premiered here, has also taken the busy road having already appeared on ISOLATE, Riotvan, Tour de Infinite, and RAVE EN TU IDIOMA since the beginning of the year. For his take on "Bitter Falcon", the rising Mexican superstar went B-A-N-G-E-R! His Latino influences are all over his interpretation and the result is a proper dance floor filler.

As our universes collide, it’s hard to tell what is what. Whether you think this is a futuristic take on Eurodance with an 80s twist, Italo Body or Trance, that is totally up to you.
