For its fourth release, Harry Agius aka Midland's Graded label has signed its first new act in the form of Montreal-based Solitary Dancer. With ‘Desire & Apathy’ being instantly familiar to anyone who heard Midland's Essential Mix earlier this year— in which it subsequently proved to be a much asked about inclusion— this eponymously titled release marks the debut of Solitary Dancer, as well as Agius' second time stepping into the role of label A&R following Hubie Davidson's appearance on Graded's ‘Regraded' sub-label last year.

From the opening moments of the EP's title track it is apparent why Aguis welcomed this release to the label, with 'Desire & Apathy' highlighting Solitary Dancer's similarly shared talent for elegant, richly-sculpted sound design and a knack for propulsive club rhythms that eschew rigid 4x4 drum patterns. 'Desire & Apathy' takes a classic electro beat and through the use of elegaic pad washes and swells of sinister bass notes morphs it into persistently engaging shapes. 

The B-side's 'Paradise Found' is a suspenseful coralling of intriguing sonic elements, with its fractured beats combined with a cinematic sense of drama and melancholy that's brought to the fore on the beatless 'Rapture Version' which brings Solitary Dancer's first release to an impressive close.

Mañana RFR publicará el séptimo volumen de su serie Bavarian Stallion, una colección de 12" que está publicando el sello alemán fundado en Munich recientemente por la gente de Pastamusik. A lo largo de los seis anteriores volumenes de la serie han pasado artistas de la región Bávara como Jichael Mackson, Skee Mask, Zenker Brothers o Roland Appel, entre otros. 

En esta ocasión el EP recoge cuatro temas nuevos. El primero de ellos es obra del veterano Dj Hell junto a Italo Brutalo, un corte titulado People Under The Age que se ve acompañado en la misma cara por Change Your Life de Martin Matiske. En la segunda cara nos encontramos con un corte de 1KW y otro de la dj y productora Panic Girl. Debajo tienes los snippets de los cuatro temas. Pardon Moi - Faster Moving Traffic - Wrong Era

A weathered road sign signalled the way to the nearest village, it’s writing barely legible after years of neglect. The path, bordered by thick unkept grass, winded down to the foot of the hill. This was no destination, nobody had visited this place in decades. Outsiders weren’t welcome here. Clusters of small thatched houses dotted the landscape surrounding a towering church. Day-in-day-out the people of the village would visit this building to worship and pray, but they were guided by their own beliefs and values, by their own god. This was their sacred place, yet their idea of what is sacred was far from the conventions of society.

Timothy Clerkin exercises his remix skills once again, this time for Barcelona via Buenos Aires collective and label Playground Records. He steps up to rework Brasilian producer Marzian, who returns to the label for his second release following the introspective wave of his 2017 debut Bien Turro.
