Juan Tuaty, también conocido como 2AT, explora en esta obra los ritmos del folclore andino de su región, pero filtrados a través de su emocionalidad y una profunda reflexión existencial. Por eso, Kartucho no solo recurre a estructuras tradicionales, sino que incorpora texturas que evocan lo gótico, el witch house, el trip hop y paisajes sonoros oscuros, interpolados con ritmos en quebrados .

El título Kartucho es una palabra cargada de significados en Bogotá. Puede aludir a la flor blanca, símbolo de pureza presente tanto en matrimonios como en velorios, pero también remite a la desaparecida Calle del Cartucho, en el barrio Santa Inés, asociada históricamente
con la marginalidad y el tráfico de drogas. En lo musical, Kartucho fusiona la energía del punk con ritmos tradicionales como el bambuco y el pasillo, integrando además elementos
del house y el bass. Estos géneros se entrelazan con las tripletas rítmicas propias de la región andina y boyacense, dando como resultado un álbum tan visceral como introspectivo.
2AT, Colombian punk artist, presents Kartucho, his second album.


Juan Tuaty, also known as 2AT, delves into the traditional folk rhythms of his region, but channels them through a deeply emotional and existential lens. As a result, Kartucho blends folkloric elements with textures that evoke gothic atmospheres, witch house, trip hop, and dark soundscapes, all interwoven with 6/8 rhythms. 

The title Kartucho carries layered meanings in Bogotá. It can refer to the white flower that symbolizes purity—commonly used in both weddings and funerals—but also to the now-extinct “Calle del Cartucho” in the Santa Inés neighborhood, once known for extreme poverty and drug trafficking Musically, Kartucho merges punk energy with traditional rhythms like bambuco and pasillo, while also incorporating influences from house and bass. These genres intersect with the triplet-based rhythms typical of the Andean and Boyacá regions, resulting in an album that is both raw and introspective.
