We've had our eyes and ears on Cabaret Nocturne for sometime now, with a sound that is deeply influenced by the early 80's Italo Disco and New Beat sound. Across the three original tracks on the EP his music touches on synth pop keys, melancholic Italo waves and dark bass lines.

Two key players in the Join Our Club family round off the EP on remix duties. Justin Robertson in his Deadstock 33’s guise pulls out an absolute blinder with a where the f%^k did that bassline come from. Last but by no means least XY-Me ups the tempo and strips thing back to bare a groove.

Sounding like the soundtrack for a ghost train haunted by the high-camp spectres of disco past, we're at a bit of a loss where to file Where is the Line, except in the big box marked GOOD. After Silenzio and Robotique de l’Amour- in french, Vampiros Discos is Theremynt’s third Ep- an electronic journey in Portuguese-tribute to  Horror Brazilian Filmmaker  Ze do Caixao and all the vampires movies that have accompanied us as teenagers such as Dracula and the Likes. Somewhere between dirty house, krautrock and deviant techno, it is an uplifting track made for the dancefloor . The three remixes are following the track’s original path pushing it to its edges: Andrew Claristidge from Acid Washed has given an interesting version both deviant and cinematographic, the Club Bizarre duet is offering a more techno version  with obsessive bells while legendary techno producer David Carretta is immerging us into a new beat and rather technoish hypnotic tune. The result is a perfect DJ tool -worth trying on the dance floor in the middle of the night.

Hi there... Is there something like an East­-London sound or attitude? Anyway, French DJ/producer wonder child Mondowski recently moved there. Born in the early nineties, the young artist has never been (frankly speaking) a "club kid". Creation's back catalogue, MBV and The Jesus and Mary Chain stand out as his seminal references... as well as Death in Vegas which, he claims, opened him up to electronic and synth music. Dark was the turn.

After the release of Cry Wolf and Sans Soleil on Relish Compilaltion IV in December 2015, the I­Boat Shadowplay party promoter is back with 2 new original tracks to be released on Relish once more. The EP is entitled Klub Psycho. The title track, to make it short, is a fierce and industrial dance­floor beat... brilliant and abrasive... ruthlessly groovy... as weird and deviant as its record cover... There's Black Age, its scary synth waves, its haunting voice­over and metallically acid vibe.

The Hacker takes over and reworks the original track into a dreadful warehouse anthem. And there's the eponymous track... and well guess it's just what it's called an unsettling late-­of-­the-­nite endeavor which Joe Spurgeon's remix efficiently rearticulates into a Detroit-­techno-­flavored underground statement.

The street was dark and the light faint. The three stood menacingly gathered around a chair as the orange glow cast a hazy fuzz over the concrete. The moon was ever so white this evening, it shone brightly amidst the stars up above. Watching over the world it looked down in a sense of constant disbelief at the chaos which had begun to unfold on planet earth. Meanwhile the three gathered around the chair remained oblivious to the collapse of mankind. They quite simply moved under the beam from above in a consistent repetitive pattern. 

There is little known to the identity of V. He releases on Nautilus Rising, the record label run by the infamous Sub Club. Three tracks of jacking house you might typically expect to hear in the club on a Saturday night.

The @HardFist imprint comes back harder than ever with a fourth 12-inch EP, a global beat inspired work mixed with cosmic synths and acid lines. The two minds of the label, @Tushen_Rai & @CorneliusDoctor joined their forces to release the striking 'Lights of Khonvoum'.

Back to the roots of their African influences, they produced 4 tracks inspired by primitive ritual music from the Cradle of Mankind. Many mythological references are hidden in the project and most of its samples are borrowed such as traditional Pygmie music from Central Africa and Congo. As a matter of fact, Khonvoum is a Pygmy god who created mankind with clay: black clay for back people, white clay for their white brothers and red one for the Pygmies.

Focusing on polyphonic chants and polyrhythmic artisanal percussions, the EP celebrates the trance state of dancers during birth ceremonies, weddings or funerals. Cornelius Doctor and Tushen Raï try to keep the power of mystic and religious music in a modern way. They introduce heavy beats and dark cosmic synth waves for an allegoric club interpretation of ancestral sounds. To go deeper in the spiritual experience, the two wizards are joined by their favorite producers: Bawrut (who released 'Drums of Passion', the 2nd Hard Fist EP) and Pletnev from the happening Vilnius scene.

The soul of the EP may be hidden in La Tribou, probably the most surprising and singular track. A dark heavy beat keeps you dancing while flooding you in a wave of tribal percussions, human panting, crying, having an orgasm and shouting. @Bawrut remix is a hardest club version with more frontal and unstructured bassline reminding his typical snare’s call. The intensity of the track is broken half-way by a flute’s melody, making this music even more unpredictable.

Joseph Thomas Price. A Londoner, producer who was born and raised in a family of musicians, he could not stay away from the constantly evolving and progressing electronic music. Owner of Polymath Records he also has  released his music on Systematic Recordings, Skint Records, Traum Schallplatten, 17 Steps and a Clash Lyon in the name of few.
“Amalgam” spikes and spins, laser beam synthlines cut through rumbling chords with snares that do more than just bear teeth. Joseph present his Amalgam version with giallo horror grandeur. Beats and words are shrouded in lilting strings for this sinister curtain fall. Rhythms ricochet and bass lines look in this lewd and dramatic track, a piece born in the grit and sweat of the floor under a haze smoke mixed with the beautiful vocals of the Berlin diva Delac.

Shadowy Avian duo SHXCXCHCXSH toast their upcoming debut LP with a simply amazing mix.

The Avian label has firmly established itself as a potent force in contemporary techno since it was founded by Shifted and Ventress in late 2011 with a singular sonic and visual aesthetic, ensuring a palpable sense of excitement and expectation attached to whichever artist from the small roster of Avian artists stepped forward to deliver the label's first full length album. That the honour has been handed to SHXCXCHCXSH with the soon to drop STRGTHS LP adds a further element of intrigue thanks to the lack of discernible information regarding the allegedly Swedish pair.

The forthcoming album is a logical progression from the material SHXCXCHCXSH have released thus far on Avian, Semantica and Subsist, delving further into the realm of hollowed-out techno across seven cuts brandishing typically scrambled track titles. Having agreed to contribute a mix, SHXCXCHCXSH turned in a thunderous hour long selection that contains moments of sheer sonic devastation (around the 40 minute mark in particular) yet also fits in specially edited post punk curios, demonic chanting and unreleased material, some of which is on the upcoming album.

The mix has been a near constant on the Juno Plus office stereo since we received it; however, attempts to engage SHXCXCHCXSH in further dialogue were met with short shrift with the following cryptic message their sole response:

Our headquarters, based in Basel, contain the label management, A&R and our production - and mastering studio. To get yourself a picture, imagine the following: Almost a museum and one of the largest collections of working synthesizers in Europe, all of them playable by midi-CV/Gate! Our studio contains about 150 vintage synthesizers, drum machines, vocoders and any kind of other weird sound generating devices. Combine that with a high-end, partly custom built sound system and state-of-the-art soundprocessors (Manley, Drawmer, Avalon, Eventide, etc) and you get a wonderful playground for every sound addict.

However, NEOPREN Records is not just a record label. We are also a booking agency. This is where Berlin and Paris comes in. Our Staff in Berlin and Paris mainly takes care of bookings but also of our distribution, promotion and artwork as well as web design. They also manage our events in the particular countries.

We are not only focusing on sound. There is also our visual-art division called NEOPREN Edition which combines visual arts and club-culture by organizing events and release DVD's with/about artists with a more visual focus.
