With the fuzz control all the way up and the 'HEAT' switch engaged the Mercury can produce some wild fuzz tones like a silicon transistor based fuzz on acid - the Mercury screams, chokes and spits like a wild beast! The HEAT mode takes the pedal over the edge so that is becomes an untamed animal. For this sound clip the VOLUME = 3 o'clock and the FUZZ = 5 o'clock. Setup used: Laney Lionheart L20 mic'ed with a Shure SM57 slightly off axis. Reverb and delays are added in 'Logic'. 'Maxed Out' Fuzz

A friend of mine, who shall be known as Cheat, and I decided to record a PInk Floyd tune a long time ago, 20+ years, on a whim.  Here's what we came up with.

Looking at my notes, it would seem we recorded this piece on July 19, 2002.  Later, Cheat (aka Mr. Egan) added drums to the recording to great effect.

I remember hearing a version of this song with parts one and two stitched together by a guitar solo Snowy White played around 1976-77, a super hard recording to get back in the 80's when I first heard it.  I thought it was cool as hell.  This is my version of that solo I heard many many years ago when I was about 15 or 16 years old.

My heart cries for the people of Gaza, for the Palestinians, and for the people of Israeli.

What's happening in Gaza is absolutely horrific and truly heartbreaking. My heart cries for all of the suffering, death, and destruction that is the result of this war and all wars. I wish we could rise above our differences somehow and come together as a race, the human race: all religions, all creeds, all peoples. We are not all that different from each other. Why do we keep pretending we are?

God, please help us.  Human Race, please wake up and start seeing the good in each other.  We are better than this.

Lost Horizon, 8-Dec-2002

This is a rendition (demo) of a song I heard John Lennon play at his home in NYC in a documentary I watched many many years ago.    It was before The Beatles used this material to craft and release the song "Real Love".  Anyway, I was touched by the song so much that I decided to work out my own version of it.  I've always called the song "Crazy World".  Anyway, this is for you, John.  Extra points if you know who painted this image.

A few thoughts about the origin of this piece...

This is a song a dear friend of mine wrote many years ago in late 1977 or early 1978. It touched me deeply when I first heard it almost 25 years ago and it still moves me today when I hear it. So, I decided to record my own version of it because I like the song so much and I want to be able to hear a proper recording of it. I added a little something to the piece as well, a middle section or bridge, if you will. Sail on, fellow travelers. Journey well. Journey well.
