I hate that I ever paid mind to those who buried their intentions
They considered careers in the arts too unrealistic
I had good grades so a safer career obviously made sense to
Those who lived in fear of risk, but I listened


Once I embraced my ambition
I thought I’d finally begun to ascend and
Live out the dream I’d resisted


Life went and cut me off
How much would I have accomplished
If I never ran away from what lived in my heart


How many lives could I touch
If I just
Trusted myself and did my art

I just waited too long to get involved
Don’t mimick me 
Getting stuck in Opinions of others
Then wishing 
That you never stalled


Believe in yourself and embrace every fall
when you get back up 
New knowledge will stack up
And buff you so now you can keep standing tall


I needed way too much validation
Eventually I stopped ignoring my fears I knew that I had to face them
I stopped suppressing negative emotions and decided to embrace them
But now I wonder if the phrase “too late”
can Evolve into "channeling greatness"?
