A flock of birds that circle above my head

Don't you hate it when people start describing a dream they had? I hope not..

I saw an angel in my  dream
Torn and tattered were her wings
And She revealed the truth to me
And it brought me to my knees
It made everything so clear
And my eyes filled with tears
But when i wiped the tears away
Her words had faded in the day

I met a man who came to me
From a land across the sea
He had stardust in his eyes
as we looked toward the sky
He held my face in his two hands
I  felt the fire flow through his veins
And I trembled in my fear
As I whispered in his  ear

Show me the way to get back home
Show me the place where i belong
Give me the stars to light the road
Show me the way to get back home

if it's not too late
Show me how to change our fate
and we all have lost the way
And there's no time left to wait

As i stand before you now
Feeling naked and ashamed

Music for Danse Etoile Ballet (www.danseetoile.org) who will be performing The Little Mermaid Ballet January 2024 in Colorado.
On her 15th birthday, the Little Mermaid swam to the ocean surface. A large ship with three masts lay calmed on the water nearby.  The Little Mermaid swam close to the cabin windows and saw a number of well-dressed people within, among them was a young prince, the most beautiful of them all.... Soon, the waves rose high and heavy clouds darkened the sky: a dreadful storm was approaching. The waves rose high as mountains and the ship dived like a swan between them. At length, the ship groaned and creaked, the thick planks gave way under the lashing of the sea, the main mast snapped asunder like a reed and the ship lay over on her side, the water rushing in..... Paraphrased from "The Little Mermaid" by Hans Christian Andersen. 
For piano, trumpet, French horn, trombone, tuba, tubular bells, timpani, virtual instruments, sound effects and percussion.
