In this month's show, bbecks invites S3BA, a trans*disciplinary musician and artist whose journey began as opera singer and performance artist before evolving into the world of DJing. She has played for collectives like Playbody, Boudica, Howl, and Riposte - most recently performing with Wraith at FKA Twigs’ Eusexua album launch - S3BA brings a unique sensibility to the decks.

With a residency on Netil Radio and a deep belief in the political power of the dance floor as an active form of resistance, S3BA’s selections transcend mere sound - they are acts of presence, defiance, and transformation.

Together, they will sculpt an evocative tapestry of ambient, downtempo, and hypnotic textures and more, blurring the boundaries between sound and subconscious. Expect a fluid, immersive experience designed to transport, unravel, and soothe.

As an artist, venue manager and promoter, Melati’s relationship with music is intrinsic to every aspect of their life. From a Masters of Architecture that explores the spatial, social and political position of nightclubs in a city to a tangible body of on-the-ground work in venues, Melati has lived and breathed the spaces in which we find sanctuary throughout all of their adult career.
