Portuguese artist Delectatio is a new signing to Silk Sofa. His EP, "Sunrise", features four unique and unforgettable downtempo cuts.

"Numinous" starts with intriguing guitar riffs and enjoyable melodies on top. Soon, intricate percussion elements as well as hypnotizing vocal stems emerge, while the delightful theme melody continues to liven up the soundscape. A blissful guitar line and soothing percussion elements introduce "Be Free". Fascinating vocal stems are added later, thereby adding an extra layer of delicate and refreshing textures. "Remember" begins with a stunning atmosphere, including a number of lush synths and an intricate bassline. A mesmerizing arpeggio melody emerges later, and numerous sound effects continuously spice up the soundscape. The final song in this package is "Latibule". Beautiful melodies are quickly established, and multiple new layers are added on top, as the song progresses. The soothing breakbeat comforts the listener even further.

Feels incredible to be releasing my Debut Album, it's been such a long process and such a long challenge it kind of felt like this day would never come, but it did.

Conceptually the album is about romanticizing a naive world view. That naiveness and ignorance is something to be cherished. There's something really beautiful about the perfect worldview you have as a kid, that the world is harmless, beautiful and good. The more you learn and experience though the more you realise everything isn't perfect. So the less you know the more beautiful it is, it's the things we haven't done, the places we don't know, that have this unquestionable beauty to it. it's this world i'm trying to mirror with my album, the one that stays in your imagination.

Musically i knew i wanted to do a sonic representation of the concept, blending worldly sounds with small bedroom type samples and soundscapes. I really loved the idea of those two polarizing things being the two main factors that would lay the ground for the album.

Friends Again

A reimagining of a song originally written by Ben Gibbard (Death Cab For Cutie) and performed by The Monkees on their final album Good Times. I stumbled across the song a couple of years back and listened to it over and over and over. There's something incredibly special about it, this beautiful ode to a love beyond measure.

Having released his stunningly beautiful debut album ‘Yonder’ in May 2018, Bristol-based musician Sean Christopher, releases a stripped back acoustic version of the album entitled ‘Yonder After Midnight’ available November 23rd on Dumont Dumont (RY X, Charlie Cunningham, ViVii, Josin). The album sees a full re-working of the original record which includes the acclaimed singles 'A Thousand Hues' - which as amassed over 3 million streams -'Carry On', 'Paper Plane Pilot' and Cherokee. As with the original record, it’s entirely written and recorded by Sean, with each track linked by his use of flamenco guitar.

«Anywhere Else is a song about anxiety. Not the panicky, all-consuming kind that often results in a severe physical reaction, but a smoldering and quiet sort of anxiety, a sort of uncomfortable buzzing in the body that never quite leaves you be. It took me many years to understand that this also is a form of anxiety. It can be relatively quiet, but it's there - always. This has had me in a soft grip for a long while, and I wrote Anywhere Else before I understood what it really was that I was experiencing. I thought it was normal to feel a bubbling sense of fear almost all the time. It can make me have a hard time deciding seemingly small things like what I'm going to eat, where I'm going to go on a walk, what coffee shop I'm going to go to, what I should wear, what I should do with my day, etc. It's a constant that I've felt for most of my life, without really understanding it or believing it to be anything but ordinary.  I've decided to release Anywhere Else at this time as it feels extra potent for me at the moment, with so many of us feeling a lot of uncertainty and fear about what's happening. I hope it can provide some comfort.»
