Beautiful Thunderous (Lo-Fi Acoustic + Reverb Version)

300 years ago, in a run-down tavern of old pirates in the South Caribbean, almost the whole town is celebrating. One of Blacksmith's ships was captured by a handful of drunken hoodlums and the stolen riches were hidden in the village. Well, if this goes well? How will the story end?

"I was thinking about Summer anthems and how they always seem to be about going out and having a good time with friends. What about the people who want to stay in over Summer - the introverts? Where is their anthem? Inspired by those great Rock tunes over the years; "Let's Get Rocked", "She Hates Me", “Teenage Dirtbag” and "Beverly Hills" I set out to write an old school guitar Rock anthem that is really fun and quirky. This song is inspired by my favourite record producer Mutt Lange and Def Leppard’s “Hysteria” album. PLAY LOUD.

Introverts Summer 2024

Fantasy for Piano, F-sharp minor
Like in the case of my previous ballade, the main theme is one of my oldest one, written on a guitar almost two decades ago, in a secluded house, when I took guitar lessons with my friends under a guise of a senior, eccentric professor who was probably semi-drunk every single lesson.
It came almost seamlessly and it never left my mind, and finally it found a satisfactory growth and expression in a piano composition.
Paul Anthony Romero made spontaneously numerous improvisations on it (He received it with a bunch of other musical themes), and a lot of those variations ended here as a homage to him, as this work is dedicated to him.
Initially the theme was planned as an initial statement in a nocturne I was writing, preceding the main theme, but after Paul's suggestion I separated the two distinct themes and decided it was best to let them grow separately.
The fact that I developed one of my oldest melodies with a superb composer and pianist, and a musical inspiration since high-school, makes me beyond blessed and happy.
The watercolour artwork, like in all other released compositions, is done by Vanja Kalemba.

“This Riff Rock track is for Halloween and written from the perspective of a senior paranoid individual who is convinced that the local trick or treaters are a time travelling group from the future called GHOSTS. They are to be feared and are making their annual visit to punish the community. Inspired by Audioslave, Street Sweeper Social Club, Alice Cooper and Tom Morello: The Nightwatchman. I wanted to create a Frankenstein’s monster of 90’s/00’s Rock, drama, anarchy and most of all, FUN; listen out for the pastiche flamenco guitar at the end. Happy Halloween.” 👻💀🎃🤘🎸

“This song is inspired by late 90’s US Rock/00’s Pop-Punk and 00’s British Indie Pop. It is about anxiety. Musically it is an attempt to showcase the storm and calm that anxiety can create in daily life. Lyrically it is about wanting to reset emotions and be free from worry and self doubt - to be yourself; a self without anxiety. This is a kind of conceptual art record.”

BE MY SOMEBODY

“I was unsure about my next song to create and so my wife suggested writing something in the style of The Mamas & The Papas, which I thought was a fantastic idea. A further suggestion by my wife was added; to include the words “Give Love, Get Love”, which was written on my tea bag string (pictured). This was an even better idea and now a fun challenge. With that, this song was written. 

This is a song about giving yourself to life - that we are simply salt floating in the sea; stardust in the universe - to not resist and to embrace every moment. 

I really love the 60’s Woodstock camp fire feel to this song and I enjoyed trying to emulate the sounds/panning of the incredible “California Dreamin’”. I think the electro/synth-pop inspired vocal processing adds a nice modern twist. I hope you enjoy this one”
