This song was inspired by "The Cold Heart" (German: Das kalte Herz), a fairy tale written by Wilhelm Hauff. It was published in 1827 in a collection of fairy tales that take place within the narrative of The Spessart Inn.
Although written almost 200 years ago, the described conflicts of mankind are still up-to-date, maybe even more than before. Preferring status und prosperity over humanity is something which has become socially acceptable.

This song is like my kid. I still remember what she was like when she was born. What she smelled like, how she took his first steps. Then suddenly she's standing at the university gate, with her diploma in her hand, she's an adult. This song has also just become an adult, so after a year. It was very exciting to work on this again. I could be a dad again a little bit.

When I started composing this piece in December, after buying Spitfire Originals Intimate Strings on sale, I had these thoughts: If this is what the future is going to look like, I didn't sign up for it. Although in my youth I read and watched a lot of SF films presenting both utopia and dystopia, I always preferred the bright future. However, what I see on TV, on YouTube and outside my window is starting to resemble the latter...

Despite this, I hope you like the piece at least a little bit

I create for the pure joy of it and I love to include my Wife and Daughter in the music to capture a beautiful moment; a personal time capsule. Music is an expressive outlet for me and I write from the heart.

Close to my heart is raising awareness of the chronically painful genetic connective tissue disorder HEDS (Hyper-Mobility Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) to encourage recognition and a deeper understanding of the condition; that no 2 people with HEDS are identical and live with different symptoms, types and experiences.
