Simultaneously wildly experimental and loyal to the unique sound he's crafting, Denver-based Cereus is locked into an uncompromising quest to fuse organic, downtempo, melodic, tribal techno, and deep sounds into something new. Cereus’s debut EP was released on Suprematic in September 2022. 2023 has seen Cereus’s second EP released on Baikal Nomads. In the upcoming months, Cereus will be releasing originals and remixes on the likes of MŎNɅDɅ, Shango Records and Keyfound.

Cereus takes us on a psychedelic, organic, groovy, spiritual, flow state journey, 
 through incredibly expansive soundscapes and also tighter, more intimate and immediate soundscapes, alternating our consciousness and perception between the ecstatic and blessed state of being lost in the timeless river of the cosmos and also a profound and powerful sense of presence in the now.  We are whole, inside and out, after this journey.  A true awakening and transformation has occurred!

November 2023 - Escape Aid - Toil and Trouble

The word ‘Odd’ has many connotations but fits perfectly when describing the sound of Melbourne producer and performer Warwick Ferguson through his genre-bending project The Oddness.
Sitting at the forefront of the Downtempo / Organic house scene in Australia, the last 3 years have seen him perform at Australia’s premium festivals including Rainbow Serpent, Esoteric, Elements, and Let Them Eat Cake, both as a solo act and with his 3-piece band including multi-instrumentalists Dylan Jarrad and Timmus.
A prolific output of music, including three Albums, has been released through labels including Sol Selectas, Beat & Path, and Eskimo Recordings. As well as the original music he is widely known for his re-interpretations of classic tracks through his ‘Reworks, Edits and Bootlegs’ series.
2022 has seen his production lead to the world of television with multiple works used in advertising projects and is currently working on the soundtrack for a TV series in production.

Here are modern urban myths that stand the test of time and are considered unspoken truths. Nowhere written down, they are passed on from mouth to ear and only exist in people's heads. They persist and are part of the respective culture.
There are also stories like this in the electro scene that fire people's imagination. The parties at Warehouse Chicago in the late 70s are considered the mother of all house parties. Animalistic scenes were said to have taken place there while Frankie Knuckles rained down his marathon sets on the crowd. Pure ecstasy rippled through the bodies of those present and the crowd was no longer made up of individuals, but was one big energy-filled being that had developed an uncontrollable life of its own. A movement emerged that anyone could belong to and which was referred to as "Jack" in later tracks. The urban legend of Jack is still used in tracks and mixtapes today. Of course, this is just one of many myths that have developed in electronic dance music.
Perhaps with the deep story of Pia Pan & Heyoka we will be able to create a new modern myth that will bring people together again and let them melt into ecstasy. A mixtape that fires people's imagination and will be the subject of many myths in the future.
