nextdimensional (she/her) is a Brooklyn-based DJ and producer whose style fuses fast, entrancing club sounds with dreamlike electronic soundscapes. Her viral party series SECRET in 2021 led to sold-out shows at several Brooklyn mainstays and appearances on internationally-renowned radio music series like NTS, The Lot Radio, and Roland. Currently she runs the “Lucid Dream” party series, a monthly dance night centering women & LGBTQ+ talent, as well as the up-and-coming Lucid Radio mix series. 

Notes on the Mix ///
“This mix is split into 3 chapters, each exploring a different time period in my evolution as a DJ. The opening sample contains audio from a self-guided hypnosis tape circa the 1960’s, which brings the listener into a comfortable trance and returns between chapters to send us deeper. Chapter 1 is an ode to my early DJ days - an obsession with lofi house and a fear of venturing beyond 130bpm. Chapter 2 marks my descent into the club music wormhole: genre-bending rhythms, a melange of cheeky edits, and exploring faster bpms. Finally, the 3rd chapter marks my current gravitation towards breaks & bass music. Hope you enjoy - thanks for listening and thank you XOXA for having me! IDEAL Radio EP055 - nextdimensional

I FEEL LIKE

LITE starts its journey into the 2-track world with an alluring South-London collab. This co-production debut from Nadī and Otus features two rave-ready rollers, crossing over cultural influences and offering two moods of liquidity. The A side Less Talk is loaded with heavy drum cuts, whilst the B side, More Talk is a nostalgic drum scattered footwork track.

The EP is an ode to dusted jungle and drum & bass, it also takes inspiration from the sonics of Bangladeshi folk music and blends ethereal vocals with western genres. The dreamlike, celestial mood of both tracks easily lends itself to home listening too.

This project seeks to showcase a mix of footwork and breaks with western drums, Carnatic vocals and thumping 808s, whilst paying homage to the Bengali Language Movement 1956 and the strife for language to be accepted.
