Three Partners in General Practice come together to discuss their journey towards becoming a Partner in their practice, the support available to them through schemes like the New to Partnerships Payment Scheme, and why they would recommend others consider taking up a partnership opportunity. The podcast is chaired by Dr Mike Holmes, GP Partner at the Haxby Group Practice in York who is joined by Mark Coultate, a Paramedic and Partner in his practice, as well as Heather Rodgers, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner who recently became a Partner at Brook Lane Surgery in Southampton.

We recorded this podcasts as part of our work to mark World Patient Safety Day 2023, to celebrate its theme of ‘engaging patients for patient safety’. It is part of a series of podcasts recorded with the Patient Safety Partners that work with the National Patient Safety Team, who play a vital role in providing a patient’s perspective to support our work to improve patient safety.
In this podcast, we speak to Khudeja, a patient safety partner who is also a CEO of a Women’s Centre supporting communities from black, Asian minority, ethnic deprived areas of Leicester and Leicestershire to address health inequalities. Khudeja talks about her experience as a Patient Safety Partner and why it is so important for patients to be involved in patient safety.

How a household model helps GPs work in partnership with people and communities

This NHS England podcast is about innovative ways of working with people and communities, and specifically about how co-production is helping develop better long term support for stroke patients in West Yorkshire.

This is part of a wider piece of work within West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board to develop a shared definition and principles of co-production.

Working in partnership with people and communities to support stroke patients in West Yorkshire

Working in partnership with people and communities to improve support for diabetes in Nottingham

The Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) is a new approach to learning from patient safety events in a way that leads to improvement in care. It was published in August 2022 and mandated in the NHS Standard Contract in April 2024.     

In this podcast, Tracey Herlihey from NHS England’s national patient safety team talks with Jenny Coverley from Middlewood Practice in Cheshire about her experience applying PSIRF principles in general practice.
