A little over 1 week ago Laser Beam challenged me to write a happy song or happy love song, and I've never been able to manage a happy song without it being total shit, so I really thought about what actually made me happy right now, and it was my buddies here on Soundcloud. I have never felt so much love coming to me virtually or otherwise in a long time, so I thought I'd write a song with all (or at least as many as possible) people I've connected with through SC. I managed 56 around which I've tried to make a story for this song.
There are many more, but including everyone would mean a book, not a song. I AM grateful to everyone though, for all their support and love. So this This IS A lalaLOVE song for you.

‘Purge’ is the new EP from the Scandi female artist with vision called Louise Lemón who provoke dark, mysterious and mystical emotions with her mixture between darker drone and gospel/soul music.

In the style of Lana Del Rey, The Kills and PJ Harvey’s open and airy noir- sound, the production takes the listener on a psychedelic journey throughout. The drumbeat is slow yet assertive, the scuzzy guitars remain ethereal yet powerful, and Louise’s vocals slide across the song with a presence which simply cannot be ignored.
 
Produced by Randall Dunn (Sunn O))), Thurston Moore), ‘Egyptian Darkness’ sounds moody, compelling and resembles Randalls’s previous work. Whilst Sunn O))) is clearly a huge influence in the production, the songwriting also draws elements from the Seattle drone mavericks.

Duel

The vocal rhythm to OK Hello was inspired by the theme tune from Are You Being Served?( “Ground floor: Perfumery, stationary, and leather goods, wigs and haberdashery, kitchenware and food. Going up...”)

But the lyrical content for each verse came entirely from headings taken verbatim from different gossip and fashion magazines. With a little David Bowie style cutting and pasting, these headings came magically together to create the story of a young female wannabe, sung by Bernadette.

Buckinghamshire, UK based Nick Byrne blends poignant melancholia and thoughtful lyricism into a contemporary mix of indie-folk. Latest single 'Solstice Sun' is a collaboration with Gloucestershire songwriter Tom Symmonds. The multi-layered composition explores the changing seasons, whilst portraying the cycle of our own emotional experiences – and features Nick's band members Alex Baker (bass guitar) and Andrew Lane (drums) as well as violinist Sophia Bartlett of Tugboat Captain.

'Solstice Sun' is the third of Nick's tracks to be produced by Jake Robbins (Weird Milk, Cusp, Ben McKelvey). 

Previous singles 'Houses' and 'Summer Rain' showcased Nick's ability for heartfelt and introspective songwriting, drawing comparisons with Novo Amor and Keaton Henson. Championed by the likes of Mahogany sessions and BBC Introducing - Nick has drawn praise from indie-folk artist Fenne Lily, and Nigel Clark of Dodgy. Perfoming with his live band he has supported artists such as Declan McKenna, Dodgy, Katie Malco, Night Flight and Low Girl.
