As & Em is the first single from my upcoming album - Thousand Year Waves - released on the 3rd of December.

On Thousand Year Waves the world is falling to pieces. But not with a crash. The world is decaying in waves. Be it climate change, a global pandemic, or financial turmoil - they all come in waves.

You watch the ocean from the beach. After a while, you start thinking you understand the pattern of the waves and that you can tell which one is bigger than the other. Until a huge wave comes along and you don’t understand anything at all.

In the morning of New Years' Eve 1995 an oil rig outside Norway detected and measured the first rogue wave ever. The platform was built to withstand a wave height of 20 meters - something that was calculated to happen statistically 1 time in 10,000 years. The monster wave that covered the platform that morning was 25.6 meters high. The waves just before and after were around 12 meters high. But one wave was higher than what was statistically possible.

This is how the world will end.

This is the b-side to As & Em. The actual music exists in one copy only - on a vinyl record. It's buried in the ground (as you can hear) at the coordinates above - in a waterproof container. This unique record can be listened to even after the end of the world. If a future generation finds a vinyl record they will be able to construct a machine - without prior knowledge - to listen to the music - just as potential aliens would be able to listen to the golden record sent out with Voyager spacecraft.

Following up January's digital release of her debut film score ‘Ainu Mosir’, New York-based cellist/composer Clarice Jensen returns with another remarkable score that should help cement her rising status as a soundtrack composer of the highest order. Composed for the Mexican independent feature film ‘Identifying Features’, the EP comprises four tracks with a total running time of nineteen minutes. Recorded at Jensen’s home in Brooklyn using cello and electronics, it’s a bold and powerful work that is as good as any drone-based material you will hear this year, and hints back at times to her critically-acclaimed 2020 album ‘the Experience of repetition as death’.

VIA EARMILK: When you strip a song of all bass, all chords, all drums, what remains? Enter Night Gestalt, the intelligent dance (IDM) alter ego of Olof Cornéer. Scaling new heights beyond his international success as half of Dada Life, Cornéer boldly pays homage to the all-encompassing unit of musical life force known as the arpeggio. After beating cancer in 2015, the notoriously energetic and good-spirited artist found the inspiration to pursue a minimal, IDM-influenced passion project years in the making. Today Night Gestalt joins creative forces with enigmatic Swedish Grammy-winning electronica master Andreas Tilliander (TM404) in a spacey, limited, nearly spiritual tour de force known as "Holy Patterns."

In the artist's own words, "With all the songs in this series of collaborations, it's really about working with an artist I admire and [seeing] what happens when two sound worlds collide. In this case I've been loving TM404's 303/acid-dub since Andreas Tilliander first start putting out music under that name. We wanted to create something that reflected the name: something deep and almost religious. Something you could enter and maybe even lose yourself inside."

Olof Cornéer is a Stockholm based composer and dj (with a multi national fame through his involvement in high energy duo Dada Life). His personal compositions involves careful, sensitive ambient atmospheres and connections to stuff that was going on in the NYC loft scene in the 1960's. Recently, he also wrote music for the wind quintet Waves, Breaths & Dead Cities; flute, horn, clarinet, bassoon and oboe. A deep excursion and study of our inner lives. Here, for the twentyeight iDEAL MiXTAPE, Cornéer appears as Night Gestalt and gives us a generous presentation of influences, attractions and obsessions.

Slaughterhouse Light is the first single from my new album Field Rituals, Vol. 1. 

I have always been fascinated by the unique sensory qualities of different places – their acoustics and the layers of ambient sound that reveal themselves when you stop and listen. Some places have a certain feeling - and a certain sound. They possess an undeniable magic.

On my new album, Field Rituals, Vol. 1, I explore this concept. I have composed six pieces of music for specific locations and then recorded them in those spaces.

These rituals unfolded at beaches at nighttime, in an abandoned slaughterhouse, in a rain-soaked forest glade, and in other magical places.

Field Rituals, Vol. 1 is the documentation of these rituals. 

The arpeggio is everything: melody, rhythm, harmony - ringing out like a bell in space forever.
