@biancalexis brings a whole new level to the world of eclectic DJing. Anyone who has regularly tuned into her radio sets for dublab or NTS will know that there is no limit to what she might play. It isn't just the electronic spectrum she traverses with ease, but also soul, synth-pop, folk, post-punk, soft rock and myriad other sounds. She also knows how to hold down a vibe in the club, either at her Standard Downtown LA residency or anywhere else around Europe. Bianca keeps one foot firmly on the dance floor with her mix this week. That's not to say it is a traditional club set, but the whole thing is underpinned by a very seductive and danceable groove that is always slowly building. There are proto-house cuts, dusty and analogue 80s rhythms, flashes of acid and breezy, feel-good sounds that send you off on a high. It is a perfect taster of what to expect from this exciting break-out selector.

Gay Felony has been a staple in the Dublab airwaves with her show ‘Alpha Runner’ showcasing a seasoned taste in music selections ranging from infectious dance floor vibrations, to soul moving ambient/experimental sounds. Along with her broadcasts, Gay Felony has become a local gem of a selector, with most recently starting an appropriately dance event called ‘Wobble’ which delivers belters to make you sweat. “Gay Felony” is a TransTime Breach - the only crime that exists in The Post-Binary. Scallion Chloe 8800 committed it. In doing so she left ahead The New Queer Timeline and a realized future in which queerness is the fabric of the universe: Trans totality. She did so at risk of altering the arrival of utopian truth; but would not accept the suffering of queer ancestors in a definite universe. Taking her crime as brand, Gay Felony now resides in Los Angeles, Pre-Mechafornia. She experiments to break down barriers at the quantum level; to encourage the synthesis of absolute-communal queering particles called ‘Queernon.’ This process can be quickly felt by the organic - it is a feeling of transcendence.

The latest edition of Nina Mix is presented by Los Angeles-based DJ Bianca Lexis (@biancalexis). Over the past five years, Lexis’ NTS Radio show Panorama Heaven has solidified her as a selector’s selector and a must-see DJ. Her unique style frequently explores the realms of rare and elusive Italo disco, off-the-beaten-path house, and more recently, the late ’90s and early 2000s chillout and electronica.

Beyond her impeccable musical discernment, Lexis continues to uncover and champion new and forgotten musical treasures. Bianca's mix for Nina offers a distinctive blend of loungey, trip-hop-infused tracks—a sound both familiar and endlessly intriguing. In her own words, ‘a mix of '90s-heavy dream pop & downtempo :)’.
