Jon More from Coldcut takes control this week and it's straight in with Ultravox, getting a juke workout and we continue in that vein with Nguzunguzu and Cocky Balboa. Then it's a slice of DnB from Dub Phizix easing over James Blake and onto DJ Spinn, Salva and Mosca.

Brodinski follows with a mix celebrating his Fabric Live mix CD. Darabi kicks off the mix, followed by the Milton Jackson remix for Recloose. Then it's the super lush Dixon remix of Osunlade's track Envision and we finish with the epic 'Feel it' by Scuba.

Coldcut back again with the mixes featured in last night's show presented live on Strongroom.fm. Tune in every Thursday between 7-9pm UK Time for the presented version of this show. Solid Steel in association with Serato (10th February) Coldcut continue bringing you the Broadest Beats with another mix featured in last night's show presented live on Strongroom.fm. We start with the incredible Jill Scott, sliding sweetly into the sounds of Joy Orbison, Photek and 'Newsflash' by Diplo featuring Sandra Melody. Then we hand over for a session from Big Dada artist Bang On freestyling over Souls of Mischief and Slick Rick, plus tracks from his new album (Sic). DJ Irk returns for hour 2 with a promo mix ahead of his gig with DJ Kentaro at XOYO on Saturday and naturally it features new album tracks from the Japanese turntable maestro. We continue with tracks from Foreign Beggars, Darq E Freaker featuring the excellent Danny Brown and Reso, before taking it down with 3 from RZA, Kidkanevil and Yosi Horikawa.
Paper Tiger finish the show with tracks from their new Priceless EP and tracks across the musical spectrum from Fantastic Mr Fox, Tuneyards, Gal Costa and Jaga Jazzist, just the way we like it.

Solid Steel in association with Serato (7th December) It's a laid back show this week as we welcome Reso to Solid Steel. His music has featured regularly on the show and ripped up dance floors across the world, but this mix embraces another side which you can also glimpse on his new album Tangram on Civil Music. It's a gentle start with Caspian, Basic Channel from 94 and classic Steve Reich with Electric Counterpoint. Then it's lush keys from Herbie Hancock, ambient tones from the Solaris soundtrack and an emotional cut from The Invisible. It's a soulful turn with Amel Larrieux, then picking up with Fracture, Mark System and Three Trapped Tigers, before closing with Leatherette and Susumu Yakota.

In hour 2 we welcome back Redrum who opens the mix with Cerebral Vortex. We follow with another recent guest, Debruit, Krampfhaft and Squarepusher, and onto Juke from Slick Shoota and twisted beats with Opiuo. Dialect features with Lenkemz, Riko Dan with Terror Danjah on Hyperdub and we wrap up proceedings with Otto Von Schirach and another appearance from Randomer, this time remixing Clouds. 
Then it's onto Part 2 for DK's Best of 2012 and a more laid back selection with Breton, the simply astonishing Banks remix for Andreya Triana, the beautiful Bodies by Wife and erie tones of Dean Blunt feat Inga Copeland. We close with a nod to a previous era with Adrian Younge and Quantic featuring Alice Russell.

We kick off with heavy hitters from Darq E Freaker, Noisses, DJ Kentaro and Wiley, before taking a breather with Leatherette and Kendrick Lamar. Then it's a Machinedrum produced track off the Azelia Banks mixtape, Gospel from The Brooklyn Allstars and the huge Higher Ground from TNGHT. We hit double time with Debruit remixed by LV, Fracture and Dub Phizix, head east with The Gaslamp Killer and it's a return to form from Nas. Uptempo club action takes us down the home straight with Julio Bashmore, Sleeping Giantz, Ashley Beedle and Randomer, before closing with the sublime Four Tet remix for Falty DL and a Cid Rim fav from 2011 finally getting a release in 2012.

Solid Steel Radio Show 21/12/2012 Part 3 + 4 - Coldcut

Solid Steel in association with Serato (21st December) The votes are in and it's been a tight contest, but the Solid Steel Mix of the Year 2012 as voted by the listeners, goes to Banks and his mix from October. We take another listen to part of his mix and first up it's his transformation of The Keeper by Bonobo and then onto Deco Child, the excellent Anti-Pop Consortium remixed by Four Tet, before dropping his second remix which is a sublime rework of 'Lost where I belong' by Andreya Triana. The mix continues to flow with Modeselektor, Orbital from '94, Lusine and the collaboration between Four Tet, Burial and Thom Yorke. 
DJ Irk sets us up for Xmas with a few seasonal snippets, alongside music from Kraddy, Q-Tip, Method Man and Koan Sound, plus classics from Al Green and the Beastie Boys.

Your favourite Hexstatic mix appeared in October starting with Sol Heilo's wonderful rework of Sbtrkt’s 'Hold On' blending into the beautiful and much overlooked Luke Abbott and his dreamy electronica. Then it's classic, stripped back house from Backroom Productions mixing with a spot of 'Intercourse' from HaHaHa & Raksha. More uplifting music from Jack Dixon and into classic Four Tet from his collected 12"s on 'Pink'. A lovely remix of Koreless' Lost In Tokyo drops into two banging remixes of Adam F's 'Circles' from Eats Everything and PhillpDKick to close this section.
Unsurprisingly, the most popular mix for DJ Cheeba, DJ Moneyshot and DJ Food was their epic version of the Beastie Boys‘ ‘Paul’s Boutique’ album made entirely from the original sample sources titled ‘Caught In The Middle Of A 3-Way Mix’ . Each of them took a third of the album to work on and combined their efforts into a mix that will make you hear it in a new way. Aside from the original sample sources they’ve included commentary from the Beasties, vintage interviews, demo versions and much more. The full mix was broadcast in August, it has over 70K plays on Soundcloud, it was featured in the Guardian and LA Times and blogged all over the world.

This wraps up a vintage year for Solid Steel and in 2013 we celebrate 25 Years of broadcasting 'The Broadest Beats', since the show began on pirate Kiss FM in 1988. Watch this space..............

Solid Steel in association with Serato (28th December) We start our review of the most popular mixes by the Solid Steel DJ's in 2012, as voted by you the listeners. 'In no particular order' we kick off with Coldcut and their mix from September starting with a heavy reggae selection from Courtney Melody, Ninjaman and Poison Chang who are joined by Om Unit, Ty & Roots Manuva and Hudson Mohawke. We hit double time with Enei, Dub Phizix and Guardians of Dalliance from 96, then two from Greensleeves with Mr Vegas and Admiral Bailey, before closing with The Bug, The Qemists and Dream Continuum.
We stay in September for DK's most popular mix, with 3 tracks from the Two Fingers album, a couple of VIP treatments for Om Unit and Dub Phizix, twisted beats from Dr Octagon and a clash between Wiley and Mark Pritchard, given a Harmonic 313 remix. Then it's back to 2001 with Koushik for the first release on Four Tet's Text label and further back to 1972 with a funk 45 from SOD, before closing with Mala in Cuba and Tenor Saw reconstructed by both King Yoof vs Gold and Soundbwoy.

Our 25th Anniversary slot this week features Richard Dorfmeister who appeared on the show in 2003 and featured many times as one half of Kruder and Dorfmeister, as well as his project Tosca with Rupert Huber, amongst others. Opening with ECM artist Steve Tibbetts, his mix floats between Gui Boratto, his own lush edit for Selah Sue, acoustic guitar of Jeb Loy Nichols and the dubbed out Rhythm & Sound featuring Cornell Campbell on vocals. He then weaves through Pat Metheney, the dub version of Sunset from Grace Jones' last album, blues from Ry Cooder and ending with a couple of tracks from his recent Tosca album 'Odeon'.
