DK digs a little deeper into the vinyl vaults for the second half, starting with a boogie selection from Windy City, Universal Robot Band, Wickett and onto Buddy Miles, Don Thomas and two P & P classics from Queen Yahna and Florence. It's back to 1969 for killer Tropicalia from Brazilian legend Caetano Veloso, then Northern Soul at it's finest with Roy Roberts and a couple of funk 45's from The Touch and Backyard Heavies. We cross to Belgium for Placebo, Canada for electronic wizardry from L'Infonie and Czechoslovakia for Jazzrockova Dilna. David Axelrod crosses over with Charles Stepney's Rotary Connection,  followed by two modern soul classics from Michael Kiwanuka and Raphael Saadiq, before taking it down with Arnold Blair, The Prime Element, Gil Scott Heron and finishing with the sublime Irresistable Force mix of Autumn Leaves by Coldcut.

Solid Steel (13th December) It's another extended show this week as DK takes over proceedings with Part 2 of his Solid Steel retrospective mix. We kick off with a club selection from Dobie, Zed Bias & Mark Pritchard, LB, Grain and Airfrog on R & S from 2001. Then it's lush Techno from Space Continuum, Arthur Russell at the controls with Dinosaur L and Dan Snaith in his pre Caribou days as Manitoba. DK fav Cid Rim appears with his track Draw, plus Burial, two from Pearson Sound, Mouth from '82 and a DK retrospective wouldn't be complete without Herbie Hancock's Nobu from 1974, arguably the first ever Techno track. We continue through James Blake, Joy Orbison, Letherette, Eprom and The Brooklyn Allstars, before hitting classic jungle with Congo Natty and onto Drum & Bass from Ray Keith, Source Direct and Roni Size, and closing with reggae from Jah Screechy and Tenor Saw.

"So as I travel around the world I always take advantage of playing any beach bar I possibly can. The 'Different Oceans' mix series gives me the excuse to search and find the records I truly desire. This particular recording was taken from my time in Byron Bay on the East Coast of Australia earlier this year. I hope this selection Inspires you to visit there someday. 
This is a selection of recordings from various beaches I've had the privilege to play at and fallen in love with. All available to download so you can enjoy the same music I did under that Vitamin D we call Sun."

Solid Steel Radio Show 25/4/2014 Part 3 + 4 - Trus'me

Solid Steel (9th January) DK is back for his first mix of 2015 and after a brief intro from Doug Carn, it's straight into a batch of forthcoming music from Glenn Astro & Max Graef, Dan Snake and Anthony Naples from his album coming out on Four Tet's Text label. It's another spin for the huge Roots by Romare and classic deep house from 1995 from Marc Kinchen and Chez Damier under his Andthoney alias. 
Mix of the Year winner Clap! Clap! is remixed by Lurka Obeah, followed by a host of giveaways from Seven Davis Jr, Alex Patchwork, Photay and the Hudson Mohawke remix of Four Tet. Then more new music with Soundbwoy Killah and Beat Spacek with a track from the Modern Streets album out in 2 weeks, plus there's always time for another Fela Kuti track.

Cold Krush Cuts: Disc 1 - Coldcut/DJ Food (1997)

A trip through the early days of Mo Wax (1992 – 1995).

James Lavelle, the founder of Mo Wax, and his friend Simon Richmond had a connection in Brussels – Tamara. She became a good friend and I quickly got introduced to Mo Wax. Simon Richmond, the founder of Palm Skin Productions and an amazing percussionist, was coming often to mix in Belgium. Acid Jazz was in full force, with three main labels defining the London sound: ‘Acid Jazz’, ‘Mo Wax’ and ‘Talkin Loud’. At that time I was buying mainly acid jazz, funk, hip hop and a few house records (‘Eight Ball’ stuff). In October of 1993 I invited Palm Skin Productions to play at le Mirano in Brussels. These guys were playing llve – real musicians, real music! They all drove down from London in a van, played an amazing gig and later on all stayed at my apartment on the floor before driving back to London the next afternoon – these were the days. Amazing memories...  When we moved to London in late 1994, I kept in touch with Simon and our weeks was looking like this: Monday night ‘That’s How it is’ parties at Bar Rumba (always with live music)  and Saturday night James Lavelle had a night at the Blue Note on Hoxton Square. And sometime if we  felt like it we’d go see Goldie and his crew there on Sunday afternoon. Remind you, Hoxton Square was sort of ‘dangerous’ in these days. Also on Sunday Paradise pub north of Ladbroke Grove where we lived... We were also going to techno parties at the Fridge in Brixton (Vapourspace) and the early Lost parties all over London (south of the River, the Mass etc). Then the End opened and that was our key club for years. Not forgetting the Ultimate Base at the Velvet Room on Thursday night... And I was supposed to work during all that  - not sure how I did it, I suppose motivation to see and hear good music! Here is a vinyl mix I prepared for you, playing only Mo Wax trax. I guess this is where I learned what the groove was all about!

Solid Steel (26th April) After last week's frantic session, it's a more laid back affair all round as we welcome Mixmaster Morris in Hour 1 for our 25th Anniversary slot. His history with Solid Steel goes back to the early days when he would often sit in for Coldcut on Kiss FM, alongside his own show The Chill Out Zone. He is also responsible for producing arguably one of the best remixes for Coldcut, with the classic Irresistible Force Full Chill Mix of 'Autumn Leaves' and productions on Rising High and Ninja Tune. We open with Robert Glasper, the wonderful Letherette remix for Bibio and tracks from Romare, Cid Rim and Oriol.
