We've been big fans of Leftside Wobble's 'Acid Soul' series, so we are delighted to have him put together a mix for us. Here are some words from him regarding his mix for us:

"Leftside Classics is a retrospective featuring some of the tracks that have meant the most to me over the last five years or so. These are the tracks that somehow always find a way back into my sets, tracks that rise above the transient and tracks that defy limiting genre pigeonholes. My sets have always been about joining the dots, celebrating the eclectic and supporting those tracks that exist in the rich hinterland between dub, funk, disco and house. Hopefully this retrospective captures that overriding ethos.

I've included a small selection of unreleased LW bits and a few exclusive versions of well known staples to keep things pushing forward too.

Clandestino 026 - Leftside Wobble

Solid Steel (14th November)  Catching Flies opens the show this week with a lush mix to ease you into the weekend. The London producer already has a few acclaimed EP's and remixes under his belt and supported Bonobo on his European tour this year. His mix opens with Chick Corea, Kazi on Stones Throw, Jon Hopkins and the Moods remix of his track 'Sunrays' from The Stars EP. Then it's into Letherette, Dirg Gerner, Caribou and his beautiful collaboration with Ifan Daffyd, before closing with recent guests Werkha and Maribou State. SR#106 - 'Dance Music For Home Listening' Vol. 2

In Hour 2 we welcome Khruangbin , the Texan trio who take influence from 1960's Thai funk (their name literally translates to "Engine Fly" in Thai ) and include Laura Lee on bass, Mark Speer on guitar, and Donald “DJ” Johnson on drums. Their debut album from 2015 ‘The Universe Smiles Upon You’ is steeped in the bass heavy, psychedelic sound of their inspirations and was recorded at their spiritual home, a remote barn deep in the Texas countryside. The band listened to a lot of different types of music on the long drives out to the country but their favorites were 60s and 70s Thai cassettes gleaned from the cult Monrakplengthai blog and compilations of southeast Asian pop, rock and funk. Their mix is a sublime selection of music that includes Arthur Verocai, Return to Forever, Serge Gainsbourg, Miles Davis and some incredibly rare records from Christy Azuma, Ahmed Fakroun and Theodora Ifudu. You can catch them playing alongside Kendrick Lamar, Jamie XX and Kamasi Washington in Hyde Park, London on 2nd July, their US Tour kicks off in September and they have a remix release coming out in early June.

Radio Dama - Episode 1 - Maribou State & Pedestrian

In hour 2 Coldcut's mix from July got your vote with a live DJ set from Matt Black at the Energy Union party in Brussels. It starts with classic selections from Kwanzaa Posse, Armando Trovajol, Mr Scruff and a KC Flightt hip house track from '87. Then it's the Redshape remix of Martyn's 'Seventy Four' and we keep the pace with DJ Naughty and the epic Seiji mix of 'Timber'.

DJ Food aka Strictly Kev's mix from October was a favaourite,  celebrating the release of his third EP - 'Magpies, Maps & Moons' and he compiled a 'Magpie Reader' full of tracks from it, his collaborators and influences. Featuring exclusive unreleased tracks and remixes as well as his trademark spoken word treasures it's a sonic guide to where his head is at and paves the way for his album in January.

It's a New Year and a new logo, and we kick off in suitable style with a mix from Bonobo. One of our former contributors to the acclaimed Solid Steel Mix CD series, Bonobo delivers a mix to ease us into 2012. Music from Seams, Nufrequency and the Ramadanman refix for Jamie Woon sooth any New Year hangovers. Then it's an 808 mix of his track 'We could forever' and we move onto some of his musical highlights from 2011 with tracks from Juk Juk, Fourtet and Falty DL, plus Blawan and Mosca upping the beats and bass. Our 25th Anniversary slot this week features Richard Dorfmeister who appeared on the show in 2003 and featured many times as one half of Kruder and Dorfmeister, as well as his project Tosca with Rupert Huber, amongst others. Opening with ECM artist Steve Tibbetts, his mix floats between Gui Boratto, his own lush edit for Selah Sue, acoustic guitar of Jeb Loy Nichols and the dubbed out Rhythm & Sound featuring Cornell Campbell on vocals.
