Solid Steel (9th May) Hour 1 this week is from Kowton, the Bristol based producer and Livity Sound label owner (alongside Peveralist and Asusu). The mix opens with German experimental musician Conrad Schnitzler and loaded with unreleased gems. As Kowton says "The mix is a snapshot of the kind of thing I've been playing recently: stripped back rhythms that work on the floor. New Pangaea, MMM, Tessela, Surgeon and bunch of other good stuff. Beyond that there's not much to say."
The latest release on Livity Sound features Pev / Kowton remixed by Ghost-202 and Beneath.

Solid Steel (24th October) Peverelist is our guest in Hour 1, an artist at the forefront of Bristol's electronic music scene, runs the excellent Punch Drunk label and is one third of Livity Sound, alongside recent guest Kowton and Asusu. The mix includes a track from the forthcoming compilation 'Livity Sound Remixes' which is out on November 3rd, and this is what he had to say;

"When i record a mix I usually grab the records I've been vibing on recently and make it up as i go along. This one turned out a bit more techno flavoured than maybe usual, but has a few more UK oriented bits too, i usually like to mix it up like that. There's a few new tracks in there and some old classics too..."

Solid Steel (28th November) This week in Hour 1 it's Tessela in the mix with a live recording for us from a recent festival. He's had a residency on Radio 1, releases on R & S, Punch Drunk & Poly Kicks and a string of remixes, including last month's excellent 'Aztec Chant' remix for recent guest Peverelist. We don't have a track list, but we do know it's a tough mix and features tracks from Jerome Hill, Dan Physics, Helena Hauff and Floorplan. He told us;
"This mix was recorded live at Austria's Elevate Festival in a long stone tunnel carved into a hill for use as an air raid shelter during the second world war. Source Direct was in charge of the lighting"

Solid Steel (7th April) Our guest in Hour 1 is Mor Elian, ahead of the release of her Echopark EP coming out soon on Finale Sessions. This follows releases on Hypercolour and Trus’me’s Prime Numbers imprint. She grew up in a vibrant Tel Aviv club scene and went on to live in LA, becoming a resident on Dublab and now lives in Berlin where she'll be starting a new label 'Fever Am' in collaboration with Rhyw . She told us;
"Spent a few weeks off after extensive US , Australia and Asia tours and was happy to be back home with my records , finally with some time to listen to them and have a good ol' mix.This mix is combination of old and new , From Dutch Electro to Detroit influences and the links between. It also includes The Mover's first piece of music in a long while. See you in 2017. :)"

His previous releases have been on Tempa, Ancient Monarchy, Hemlock Recordings and The Trilogy Tapes. Over the last few years Parris has secured his position as one of the most forward thinking UK Techno producers. With music from ESG, CVX, Bruce, Mobb Deep, Joy Orbison, Craig Mack, Call Super and Nas, he had this to say about his mix;
"A snapshot of records in my collection which have influenced my own musical output mixed in with some newer bits.
