Bio

Yonder Breaks is Rick Bickerstaff, a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from Los Angeles, California. Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, the roots of bluegrass/folk and country/western show up in songs like "This Life of Us" and "Money Ain't Nothin'." But the influence of coastal living, along with a strong passion for surfing is not left out; particularly in "More Beautiful" and "Like a Song," which are about his wife and oldest daughter, respectively.

Yonder Breaks performs often around Los Angeles, where you can see him tell stories and sing songs about fatherhood, faith, career and creative pursuits. He also enjoys writing blogs, fiction, and shooting skate videos with his two daughters.

Fun fact: Rick and his wife are avid fans of Christmas, and even got married a week prior. As a result, you'll often hear sleigh bells where they don't belong in Yonder Breaks music.

I'm a music producer/sound engineer and recording and performing musician. This page is for some of the music I have produced, recorded, and/or mixed.

Singer-songwriter born and raised in Los Angeles. Love listening to all types of music, but mostly make indie folk rock!

Building slowly... the story, the set, the stage....
Imagine the universe is a form of consciousness, analogous to our sub-conscious. It 'feels' via electromagnetic induction, forces at the quantum scale and warping via gravity. And each of us, Beings that may sift consciousness via the interactions of our neurons within it. If you were it, and it were you, surely it has a vested interest in your well being? Much as we do our bodies, and our environment. And indeed, may be the source of ideas in our minds. It is that we simply borrow its energy for a time... and do what we must to live our lives with meaning and purpose.
