"iNDIMA" is a soulful Afrohouse composition inspired by the trials, growth, and spiritual alignment that one faces in their life journey and calling. The word "iNdima" is Zulu for role.

The track explores themes of endurance, purpose, and spiritual awakening. In the lyrics, Ivee Soul opens with the reflective line "Kudala ndisiza" (It’s been a long time coming), followed by the metaphor "Libale, ilanga libalele" (the sun shines / the sun is at its zenith), symbolizing clarity, breakthrough, and alignment with one’s path.

The song is a collaboration between Mathousand16, Ivee Soul, and Shaw Komori, blending rich vocals, deep-rooted African rhythm, and jazzy instrumentation.

Sam O.B. makes his Bastard Jazz debut with two dynamic and immersive songs illustrating themes of time and isolation. Dancefloor ready as singles, ‘This Saturday’ and ‘Opaque Pace’ are crafted for both your headphones and the club.

‘This Saturday’ conjures an after-hours mood with lyrics exploring feelings associated with social nightlife and its dualities of excitement/anxiety and confidence/self-doubt. Propelled by a hypnotic thump, the song is seasoned with swirling synths and scattered hand-claps and additional vocal harmonies by Allison Ponthier. ‘This Saturday’ ultimately invites you both lyrically and rhythmically to step out of your comfort zone and enter a space of real living: “Free those bones.”

‘Opaque Pace’ shifts from studying the kinetic movement of bodies to focus on the soluble movements of time. The track evolves patiently from fluttering woodblocks and undulating congas to a pulsing pad of choir harmonies. Sam’s ghostly vocals enter to hint at the shape-shifting qualities of time. Everything’s rolling nicely when a thunderous explosion of drums and heavy bass blast a hole through the hourglass. Seconds slip away like ever finer granules of sand passing under foot. Just as guitar rhythms congeal a melody, ‘Opaque Pace’ prepares to bow out, as ephemeral as it is uplifting.

Sam O.B. (fka Obey City) is a producer, DJ, label boss and tastemaker who has been making music in his native New York for the last decade. What started as casual experimentation and beat making for rappers and friends has evolved into an unrelenting solo passion, resulting in a steady stream of soul-drenched bedroom music that avoids trends in favor of the enduring. Earning praises from a worldwide range of selectors that include the likes of Dam-Funk, Tama Sumo, San-Soda, Mike Huckaby, Jamie XX and 2562, Dean aka the Funk Bast*rd (one half of the Cosa nostra duo and co-founder of Singapore-based label Darker Than Wax) has been tirelessly pushing and promoting an alternative expression of leftfield music through his widely eclectic and genre-bending sets. Being the main A+R and creative mastermind behind DTW, the label has flourished tremendously over  the past 5 years, cementing its place as one of the go-to labels out of South East Asia.

His musical selection, which traverses between a huge variety of musical genres like deep jazz, soul, funk, boogie, brazilian grooves, house, techno, breaks, hip hop and bass numbers have left many indelible marks on the dancefloors.

It’s no surprise then that he has played alongside some of the world’s finest like Gilles Peterson, Benji B, Kyle Hall, Lefto, Recloose, Gerd Janson, Basic Soul Unit, Linkwood, Norman Jay, Souleance, Pearson Sound, Krystal Klear, Tiger and Woods, Mike Huckaby, Seven Davis Jnr and most notably, warmed up for Dj Ez, Fourtet and Dam Funk.
His sets have also taken him around the world, playing most recently at Dimensions Festival in Croatia, various cities in Europe, Asia, and Brazil. In 2016, Funk B was also invited on BBC 1XTRA, Rinse RM, Radar Radio, and swung through the legendary Brownswood basement of Gilles Peterson with a 2-hour exclusive Worldwide FM mix. He is also a regular presenter on Gilles' Worldwide Fm, transmitting good vibes every 3rd Tuesday of the month.
