I'm absolutely buzzing to share the release of a captivating new track by Australian artist Gary Hayward, inspired by my reinterpretation of Erik Satie's timeless Gnossienne from 2021. It's incredible to witness how Satie's composition from 1890 continues to inspire artists today!
Gary took my Satie's inspired track called "Rocking Gnossienne" and infused it with his own unique style, adding original lyrics that truly elevate the music to new heights. I'm beyond excited for you to hear it!

According to the 1865 Larousse dictionary, a Gnossienne was a ritual labyrinth dance created by Theseus when he defeated the Minotaur. But Satie's involvement in gnostic religious groups at the same time probably also influenced his use of the mysterious title.
Borrowed from the title of a piano composition by Erik Satie; its etymology is a mystery but may refer to Greek gnosis, knowledge, or Knossos, the mythical setting of the Minotaur and the labyrinth.

This was a little easier to put together than the previous three cover songs.  I should maybe have transposed it to lower key for my bass range (in fact almost certainly should have), but it was intriguing to see if I could actually hit all the notes singing.

The Title of the song can be understood in 2 ways:
1. a reflection of the current Corona crisis we are in
2. the feeling I still have since I play this 8 string beast, that I bought myself in January 2020. Always used to be at home on 6 strings, this one is really a challenge, which I am getting only slowly under control.
 Never in my life I had to search on a guitar for the deep e-string :-)

Ken has written the lyrics and vocals to this track. 
Ken has also played the intro on the acoustic and the stunning slide solos on his lap steel guitar for the guitar battle at the end of the song. For me I perceived it as if Ken had sold his soul to the devil at the crossroads, but ...hm... I am still not sure if he really did ...

I use SoundCloud for collaborations with other Artists, if time allows.
Mix and Mastering was done in the „N.o.b.S. Moonshine Studios“ based in my living room. 
Nearly everything had been recorded during the night, sometimes at daylight on weekends.
