Our second transmission comes from an artist which we appreciate very likely. 

Svarog (@svarogtechnomusic) is representative of Ukrainian techno scene. This name for the project was inspired by ancient mythology. He prefers underground techno sound in his work. Svarog combines saturated timbres, landscape textures and ambient shades, sometimes uses broken rhythms. He is inspired by mountains and architecture.

There are many different ways that the biosphere affects climate. Some produce greenhouse gases and promote warming of our planet through the greenhouse effect, while others reduce the amount of greenhouse gases promoting cooling of our planet. Thereby, by trapping heat, greenhouse gases contribute to our planet's warming and the biosphere provides the necessary environmental conditions for survival. And of course, Biosphere is the moniker of one Geir Janssen, who has been a constant influence on ambient music throughout his career. With her adoration of connecting human beings to themselves deeply through the ever evolving nature of the raw, deep and uniquely inquisitive sounds of life, Ish Anja creates a journey that is explorative and hits the sweet spot. A variety of frequencies ranging within ambient and transforming into deeper, raw techno conveys an experience where others can learn to dance with both the dark and the light of life.

Ish Anja like to carry sounds within her mixes that give others a feeling of familiarity, where they have been to that specific place or to a place unknown. The feeling where those listening chose contentment and euphoria, so that they can use it to carry themselves forward into whichever way resonates. She has loved sharing sounds with others since she was younger, and is now continuing to do so around Melbourne as she shapes her sound into who she truly is and what she wants to bring to others in her sounds and in the music community - depth, curiosity, unity, exploration, and a euphoric, familiar feeling that is sometimes hard for all of us to explain.

Brooklyn duo Irina Kotik and Gilles Wasserman started recording as Moon Patrol in 2017, focusing on lo-fi atmospheric downtempo and depths of low-slung atmospheric techno. With releases on labels like On Board Music and Huinali Recordings in 2021, the duo spent the first few months of 2022 working on their debut long player 'Mountain House Music', which is due in upcoming months via South Korean record label, Huinali Recordings. Irina and Gilles are also co-founders of the popular music platform Delayed.

Artificial intelligence, a sublabel of Warp.

The best of Warp records and ambient-techno from 1991 to 1998. In 1992, Warp records released the highly influential compilation Artificial intelligence that was 25 years ago. I made this mix of my favorite Warp tracks but also some other tracks released on similar influential labels at the same time such as GPR (General production recordings), Rising high records and Apollo. 1991 to 1995 was for me the best era of electronic music. Enjoy!

Artificial intelligence

Imagining the journey of a Blade runner, a skin job, in Los Angeles circa 2019 and using Vangelis covers and mainly tracks inspired by the soundtrack, I created an imaginary journey of Rick Deckard strolliing in LA 2019. Sound bytes from the sectors of Blade runner, tracks and samples from the movie were used. It’s a trip into the words of the LAPD, Bryant, Gaff, Deckard, Dick’s universe, product placement and obviously, an hommage to Vangelis…All those moments will hopefully not be lost in time...

SVAROG – a representative of the Ukrainian techno scene. The name for his project was inspired by ancient mythology. He prefers underground techno sounds in his work. Svarog combines saturated timbres, landscape textures and ambient shades, sometimes he uses broken rhythms. He is inspired by mountains and architecture.

We're super happy to have our good friend Svarog back on Revelation Session Series with the stunning mix.  Svarog is one of the Ukrainian mythology gods, the god of metal, the forge operator, the god of fire. This is the artistic name of Oleksa Moroz, musician and dj from Lviv, Ukraine.

He starts his career in 2015, releasing an Ep in the cult label Circular Limited, showcasing the best deep and profound sounds of techno, where textures and ambiances equal the power of the beat. 

Soon after he releases in the german label Nachstrom Schallplatten, Affin Ltd. y Black String Records as well as in Mexican label Illegal Alien, Animal farm or Pole groups’ own Aine.

His sound is personal and unique, always focusing in dark but evocative textures, combining saturated timbres, industrial sound and atmospheric  landscapes, even broken rhythms. 

Shades of ambient, mysticism, and real techno are the elements that characterize all his output.

Modern and futuristic sounds, far from trendiness and simplicity, from the soul to all intelligent dancefloors out there.
