Concrete Cologne 

The hyperalkaline solution that seeps through the cracks in the concrete of this parking garage has  shaped into a calthemite, behaving in the same manner my thoughts keep on wandering through my mind and make their escape into reality. 

Stuttering and growling, a drop of liquid calcium carbonate escapes the micro cracks of the concrete everness and leaks on the floor, resounding on the walls of the empty 3th floor of the parking garage. The garage smells exactly like the parking garage my mom used to park her car when we went out to go grocery shopping. Even the penetrating smell of urine adds to this calming smell of nostalgia.

Making the invisible visible, exposing it to the the visitators of the parking garage, the drops of calcium-rich leachate have slowly shaped into an alienated calthemite that managed to encapsulate the seemingly elusive time that passes. Some may see the calthemite as white, I see it grey. 

About every 20 minutes a drop of the hyperalkaline solution comes down from the ceiling, dripping from stalactite to stalagmite. This all started years and years ago, god knows why. The drop that just leaked out of the concrete put a veil over the previous drop that put a veil over an even older drop, making it impossible to re-enter the exact state of what once was. 

The otherworldly bump on the floor consists of thousands of drops that all have turned from a clear and transparent drop into this moist time capsule. The drops from years ago are encapsulated deeply in the calthemite but are ever present in the tower of thoughts that built up to this physical reality. 

The car owners and visitors walk past the calthemite, admire it, step on it, spit on it or don't even notice its existence. It's been going like this for years. 
The concrete doesn't mind, the drop doesn't mind, the calthemite doesn’t mind. 

The calthemite keeps on growing, slowly getting a brown orange color tint caused by the iron oxide from the rusting steel reinforcing inside the concrete.
