Hello lovely people, finallyyyyy here it is: my set from Akasha Festival 2021. 

I will never forget this magical morning. This was just something else... working on the Akasha grounds for weeks and then releasing it all into this 6 hours sunrise set that I got to play. So grateful for this morning and that hell of a vibe!!

PS: the reason it took me so long to upload this set is that I had to re-record a little missing part. I played for 4 hours and was then told to stop. So I packed up all my things and unplugged the recorder. As it turned out I was allowed to play another 2 magical hours. I pressed play on my recorder and 1,5 hours into the second part of my set I realized that I didn’t plug the recorder into the mixer. At least I luckily recorded the athmo of that part and was therefore able to recreate the missing piece at home last week. So HERE WE GO! ❤️

The combination of Terry Funk and Rish and their drive as both producers and DJs has lead to a rapid synchronized dash onto the lineups of both local events and out-of-province gigs. Thanks to a continued relationship with Montreal's CIRCUS Afterhours, Funk X Rish return to the legendary venue at the end of this month after a myriad of summer performances at events like Electric Island.

Now, the duo are on the cusp of double digits with their monthly podcast - X Marks the Spot - as well as curating the productions of both Canadian and international producers thanks to their own label, Plus Minus Recordings. Jason Esun is a Producer and DJ out of Long Beach CA who has taken his inspiration from the underground and made it his own. About 10 years ago when he was 18, Jason learned to produce music with Abelton Live by transferring his knowledge of music theory into his new-found love for electronic music. Jason then started going to raves during his freshman year of college, and when he saw Green Velvet play for the first time, he knew that being a DJ was what he wanted to pursue during his lifetime. Jason continued to go to parties and found his love for house music through artists like M.A.N.D.Y, Seth Troxler, and Jamie Jones. Once he Graduated College in 2014, he moved to LA to pursue his music dream to become a DJ in the LA underground scene. He started getting booked at a few parties here and there and then linked up with Bright People and has been playing parties in both the Desert and LA warehouse scene ever since.
"Being considered Wulfpack family is a huge honor to me and when I was asked to do this mix I couldn't help but put my heart and soul into it. I spent a lot of time getting the right tracks to provide the vibe that defines my style and i am extremely proud of the end result.

It's our distinct pleasure to welcome one of our favorite artists and all-around human beings to the label, the one, the only, jozif! It was love at first sight when we first partied with this dude two years ago in Mexico, and since then jozif has become one of our most beloved resident DJs at our Desert Hearts Festivals. His delicious personality and incomparable party vibe has made him a fan favorite behind the decks, but it's his dedication towards pushing the musical boundaries that's kept him in our hearts around the world. Words from the artist: It’s a very special year for the most of us, but music is still running. It doesn’t matter what happens--music will survive. This year, it was my first mix over 3 hours that I created. I used a lot tracks from my labels Katermukke, Mukke, and MoNSTER. So much good music from amazing artists came out this year irrespective if there is a pandemic or not. Anyway, I’m looking forward to normal times again, and hope I can bring that same normality and dance feelings to your home.

If all went according to plan you wouldn’t be the least interested in this text. Indeed the story of young Velten who leaves his hometown in the Black Forest to find an orderly apprenticeship in Berlin and who grows up over time – such a story wouldn’t be very gripping. Fortunately there is a club in Berlin that is called „Ostgut“ and people like Velten who like to make irrational decisions from time to time. The outcome is foreseeable: instead of sitting in the subway on his way to work, on a Monday morning, Velten much rather joins his pals in his run down flat for an after hour. Luckily these pals not only share their passion for sheer endless nights, but also start to organise eventseries, open bars or turn a rundown Berlin backyard into a club. This is exactly the path that turned Velten within a short period of time into a DJ, producer and finally KATERMUKKE label boss DIRTY DOERING. 

In the beginning it’s more about beer and liquor. Velten trades the office-desk for the bar counter and lends the prospective Berlin Techno-celebrities a hand on their way to delirium. The fact that he regularly provides them with his own DJ-Mix tapes comes in quite handily. Back then hi sets are inspired by the same staggering hedonistic vibe, that lures more and more people into the small bar between Holzmarkt street and the bank of the Spree: Bar 25 is slowly making waves. Here, they’ve been waiting for someone like Velten. Eventually DIRTY DOERING becomes an essential part of BAR 25. The guy behind the counter turns into a resident DJ, the queue in front of the club is getting longer and longer and friends become family. Outside of Berlin DIRTY DOERING is in everyone’s ears by 2010 the latest: With „I Would“ and the fitting video, full of colourful, out of time moving people, he not only reflects the sound but primarily the lifestyle of BAR 25, to the point where the whole world wants to dance with him on the shores of the Spree river.

Since then a lot has happened: DJ Bookings from New York to Tokyo, BAR 25 has been shut down and reopened and meanwhile DIRTY DOERING has burnt down all dance floors with every new release or remix he has released. Eventually the BAR 25 era came to an end and the Kater-era started. Naturally it was Velten, who had the idea of founding the appending label KATERMUKKE. He’s been releasing music on the label ever since – no less colourful and varied than his DJ Sets. Whether it’s deep or impellent, weirdly enchanted or crystal clear – DIRTY DOERING and KATERMUKKE don’t tie themselves down but still know where the journey should go: Onwards, escaping daily routines, straight ahead into this insanely liberating feeling, where the beat means everything and the thought of the morning after counts for nothing. LOST IN MUSIC.
