As part of longstanding no wave duo Naked On The Vague, murky girl group Knitted Abyss and extraterrestrial drone project Half High, Lucy Phelan has been a critical force in the Sydney DIY scene for over 10 years. Under the solo veil of Lucy Cliche, she annihilates with these four wavey techno tracks that honour her noise and punk ethos. With pounding drum sequences, draining synths and emotionless vocal echoes, her dark dreams sabotage our calculations of modern dance while demonstrating how physicality and the ethereal can interact.

A French DJ and multidisciplinary artist, Baka Bakqa pushes the boundaries of the alternative and underground scene. His sets intertwine the dark and enchanting realms of new wave and post-punk in a fusion of genres such as dark italo and body disco. It’s an immersive dive where mechanical rhythms collide with visual and sound narratives; a unique experience where the intensity of the performance blends with an obscure yet unifying celebration.

With over 8,000 listens, his latest mix “DIE IN THE DISCO #16,” released last April on the Yami Spechie YouTube channel, is making waves and confirms his status as a reference in the genre.

As the founder of the Parisian queer collective Gouter de Nuit, Baka Bakqa has multiplied collaborations, sharing iconic stages such as the Olympia in Paris alongside TR/ST. For the past seven years, he has brought together a constellation of artists and groups like Curses, Vox Low, and Minuit Machine.

An insubordinate visionary, Baka Bakqa imposes a unique style that defies the conventions of clubbing, creating events where music, art, and performance converge to celebrate boldness and freedom of expression. These nights attract an eclectic community of clubbers, ravers, and concertgoers, all in search of authenticity and new experiences in inclusive spaces and LGBTQIA+ contexts.
