“Run Your Own Mind First” is about a blunt truth most people dodge: many want to lead, influence, and redesign the world before they’ve learned to govern their own thoughts and emotions. The song argues that power simply magnifies whatever already exists inside a person. If the inner life is ruled by anger, fear, ego, or impulse, those same forces will scale up into the institutions and movements that person creates. History shows the pattern again and again. The core message is disciplined and almost Stoic: real leadership starts with self-command. Before trying to steer nations, movements, or other people, a person has to stabilize the one system they actually control first, their own mind.
