Jordan Christoff is one half of the inspiring and prolific duo PJS (with musical partner Patrick Dique). Here Jordan stretches out with another breathtaking new age document of time and place: a deep listening long-form piece in 2 parts. A true sound explorer, committed to his idiosyncratic vision, he is also engaged in supporting struggles for indigenous emancipation from colonialism, as a resident of Lekwungen territory where this album was made.

Over the last few years Jordan has released on labels worldwide including Leaving Records, No Problema Tapes, Muzan Editions, Plus100 and his recent solo outing on Constellation Tatsu. London's Salmon Universe is excited to be the home for his latest expansive work 'Water'. Water is an apt metaphor for his sound, an ever-flowing evolving amorphous yet still landscape, equally and sensitively represented by the cover artwork of Texas resident Nicholas Law.

Jordan is on a mission to dissolve the barrier between reality and the metaphysical plane. He intends to open the doors of his creative self and let his life force do the talking. His music is like air, but also like water - the connecting viscera of everything.

The first installment of my mixtape/audio collage series, this one was for my friend Brooke.  For each recipient I drew a tarot card to use as a basis for their audio collage, and for her I drew the dreaded Tower: the 16th arcana, and one that typically strikes fear into the hearts of those that draw it.  
But really, there is nothing to fear here, except the true knowledge of the Self: the Tower is a symbol of the process of alchemical transformation.

So, with that in mind this 90 minute audio collage is a narrative journey through the crucible of spiritual reckoning the Tower represents.  We descend into a tornado of madness and chaos, until from the broken pieces, understanding begins to coalesce: and we come out the other side, new. 

The only way out... is through.  Listen if you dare.

Cassette 1: The Tower

https://soundcloud.com/pieralfeo is a composer and sound artist working with electronic music, currently studying Composition, Musical Informatics and Multimedia at the Conservatoire of Bari. 
Through his artistic practice, Pier Alfeo investigates cognitive and pathological problems caused by the intense relationship between human beings and automation systems in contemporary societies. His multimedia installations, sound sculptures and electronic musical compositions put the repetitiveness of mechanical-algorithmic automation systems under tension with the unpredictability of chaos. In this way, the rigid regularity of serial systems is interrupted and deconstruct from the inside, generating new configurations of meaning. 
Within these processes, sound acts in an organic way as a destabilizing and healing element at the same time, emerging with its irregular expressiveness.

All tracks were recorded in real-time as a basic factor. Once the tool to create the sound was developed it was possible to record internal energy with its possibilities then. Morphogenesis of previous steps of experience with the moment of now. Morphogenesis of the moment of now with external tools and the internal world. Morphogenesis of real-time processes and the current biosphere makes output in sound.

“Proc. Morphogenesis” means “Procedural Morphogenesis” as well “Morphogenesis Process”

The process of morphogenesis here is the experience translated into the sound with an abstract digital virtual tool - the virtual sound instrument developed by V4W.ENKO.

The air above a cityscape is never still. At sundown, the seeming emptiness envelops one in melancholy; as the night goes on, all the neon lights, looming structures and dancing smoke silhouettes come along to keep the company. The urban soundtrack put together by Alethe is a reflection of both the cold and the welcoming, the abrasive and the melodic, all of which makes apparent the dualistic allure of the city. The Russian artist's music has been released on tape labels such as Audio. Visuals. Atmosphere., Holy Geometry and Strange Rules. Alethe's mix for Amulet of Tears contains many of his recently favoured works and inspirations.

Alex Smalley aka Olan Mill returns to Shimmering Moods with his new album. 

Captured throughout 2019, Citation Index was layered together from recordings of guitar, synthesiser and voice. 
Energy has become a theme in my work. The albums titles and artwork are based around common methods of energy production. It seems our mastery of physical energy has accelerated many things, so the slow movements of this album aim to counter that in some small way.

2021 élan vital recordings 

Sebby Kowal is a  newcomer to élan vital recordings, but he is not unknown to the ambient scene as 'Bright Spaces' is his fourth album. Similarly like his previous albums, 'Bright Spaces' firmly sits into the atmospheric ambient/drone realm, driving you calmly and peacefully towards the vast horizons with glacial movements of the sound spectrum. The whole atmosphere and aesthetic aims towards reaching inner peace of the soul and it succeeds to actually tranquil and soothe the farthest corners and vast spaces of your soul. Hazy but still melodic, the album is mixing fragments of static, hums, decayed melodies and shady sounds into unique meditative amalgamation.  Or said with the artists own words: My goal with the album 'Bright Spaces' is to bring a sense of peaceful calmness to the listeners, the sense that is especially relevant during these stressful times. 

Sebby Kowal is a Polish ambient producer with previously three albums released on the labels Whitelabrecs, Shimmering Moods Records and Lagerstatte, and his track 'Lost In Tokyo' was placed on 'tʌntrə XIl' compilation released on Neotantra imprint. One of Sebby's proudest achievements was his Warm Night Fall EP released on Dewtone Recordings that came out in 2017 and it was sold with over 800 copies worldwide.
