For over a decade now, Strasbourg’s ADS1 has operated like a mythic figure in the French 140 bpm underground—part dubstep scholar, part bass sorcerer. Known for his meticulous sound design and an ear permanently tuned to the deepest corners of sound system culture, the DJ/producer has quietly built a reputation among connoisseurs of sub-heavy music. His new EP, a four-track release that feels as much like a short story collection as it does a club record, sees him both refining and subverting his own formula—drawing from hip-hop, Eastern instrumentation, and pure psychedelic experimentation.

A shapeless young soul, forever wandering between tectonic rhythms and fleeting melodies — searching for balance between two opposing selves: one drawn to raw, driving intensity, the other to subtle, introspective soundscapes.

Raised in Suceava, my fascination with sound began around 2012. What started as simple curiosity soon became a language of its own — a way to translate feeling into motion. My first live set in 2015 marked the moment everything changed, opening a path of exploration that continues to unfold with every mix and shared night.

Over the years, I’ve grown alongside artists who shaped and inspired me, each encounter leaving echoes that find their way into my sound. For me, music isn’t about arriving somewhere — it’s the constant drift, the dialogue between rhythm, instinct, and reflection. It’s where I lose myself, and where I keep finding something new.

It’s the sound of becoming — and I’m still listening for what comes next.
