Belgian-Greek artist Naethan debuts on Kiosk ID with ‘Katy’—a bold, electro-acoustic two-tracker that blends highly textured dance music with glitched-out synth work and fluttering, ethereal melodies. Instead of polished shine, Naethan leans into raw, emotional immediacy, coaxing up a one-of-a-kind soundscape—nuanced, eclectic, and with powerful soul and grit.   The title track, ‘Katy’, is a mangled, melodic ballad driven by a beautifully engineered, wildly pitching lead, soulful organs, and warm, hymnal low-end. Constantly evolving through subtle microshifts and technical finesse, Katy unspools and rearranges itself in real time, culminating in an explosion of arcing synth contortions framed by a slow-burning four-to-the-floor beat.   On ‘Hybrid Catalysis’, Naethan sets a choppy break against mournful leads, squelchy bass figures, and airy pads. Cavernous, tactile drum chops and textures form a heavy, physical undercurrent, while shimmering chimes and dub chords ripple across the frequency spectrum—spacious, angelic, and gently suspended over growling, low-end throb.   After a decade releasing under another moniker, Naethan’s alter ego was meant to return him to his roots in emotionally charged dance music. Their music has always moved me with its vulnerability and cinematic depth. When they invited me to remix  'Khaf Mat', I felt both honored and inspired. My intention was to take their heartfelt vocals and melodies into a new dimension, weaving in an hypnotic psychedelic tribal groove. This one is certainly designed for the open air festival.

I recorded these chants during a peaceful protest for Palestine in Montréal last year. Back in the studio, carried by the charged collective energy of that moment, this piece came to life.

Today feels like the right moment to release it—hoping it resonates with you, whether in your heart or in your sets—as a contribution to the rising wave of awareness and support for Palestinian liberation.

The ongoing genocide has reached unbearable proportions: forced famine, displacement, and the attempt to erase an entire people. While governments and powers of darkness try to convince us that we are powerless, the Freedom Flotilla reminds us of our capacity to unite for collective change.

We are the people. We are the change—today and tomorrow.

Premiere: Wild Dark, Ariaano - A Little Dance [Sounds of Khemit]

Summer is slowly but surely coming to an end and the nights are getting longer again. What could be more fitting than an EP called Night Shades? Responsible for this is Berlin artist Jiggler, one half of former Bar 25 favourite Channel X. He has been causing a stir with his solo project for many years, including releases on Stil vor Talent and Katermukke. The first track, Night Shades, which shares its name with the EP, captivates with its driving groove and wonderfully dreamy yet uplifting lead synth. With the second original, Voyager, the journey through the night continues seamlessly, albeit in a more rousing and darker way. Jiggler is supported by a total of three artists with their own interpretations of the originals: Richard Elcox, the Scottish Berliner by choice, who was already playing around with his brother's Korg MS-20 at the age of 11 and the well-known Matija and Contenance here in Zurich. The former has been part of the local scene for over three decades, the latter is well on his way to emulating Matija.

With his surprise fifth studio album ‘Magickal’ continuing to resonate across the global electronic landscape, Damian Lazarus now unveils the second half of the project’s ambitious remix series. Out 26th September via Crosstown Rebels, ‘Magickal Remixed (Part II)’ enlists the talents of Cinthie, Timo Maas, and Anthony Middleton, with each of the three celebrated artists bringing their unique perspective to the Crosstown head’s latest long-player. Arriving in both digital and vinyl formats, this three-track package builds on the energy of Part I, which featured takes from Harry Romero, Jonathan Kaspar, and Mëstiza, and THEMBA’s earlier remix of lead single Searchin’, continuing a journey that reimagines Magickal’s most defining moments through fresh, club-ready interpretations.
Opening the release, Berlin favourite Cinthie takes on ‘Y Don’t U’, injecting her signature analogue warmth and groove-driven touch into the album cut, reworking it into a silky, floor-focused workout that radiates her unmistakable house sound. Longstanding innovator Timo Maas steps up next with his remix of ‘Warrior Dance’, Lazarus’ amapiano-inspired collaboration with Ghanaian artist Jojo Abot. Stripping back and rebuilding the track into a hypnotic, low-slung affair, Maas balances subtle percussive detail with deep, pulsating basslines to create an intoxicating new dimension. Closing out the EP, Anthony Middleton, formerly one half of Audiofly, reshapes the soulful ‘So Low’ featuring Zoe Kypri into a textured and emotionally charged journey, weaving its vocal lines through expansive sound design and rolling grooves.
As Damian unveiled at the album’s initial shock drop, ‘Magickal’ was conceived as a complete body of work, capturing clarity, transformation, and a deepened sense of connection. With ‘Magickal Remixed’, that world is opened up further, with close friends and esteemed peers recasting its tracks in their own artistic languages, providing a multifaceted exploration of the original record’s spirit and purpose.

After delivering an electrifying remix of Folgar & Chumbita’s Meltdown in late 2024, Portuguese producer Vini Pistori returns to Kiosk ID with ‘Life’—a four-track EP that threads technical sophistication and suspended emotion into a sprawling brand of hypnotic, floor-focused energy. Drawing on personal memory, Life reads like an audio diary—intensely textured, lushly composed, and grounded in a powerfully human sonic philosophy.   ‘The Green Tree’ is a lush, atmospheric groover. Built around a lively bassline and rustling found-sound percussion, the opener progressively transforms quivering pulses and wondersome chord progressions into a melodic flurry of energy, ever sharper and more electric. Named after a beloved tree in his partner’s family home, The Green Tree quietly pulses with emotional gravity—lush, alive, and becoming.   ‘Underneath Waters’ dives into a shimmering ocean of resonant percussion and ethereal melody.
