Traditional Jazz Vocalist and Lead Singer for JPJQ. Born in Saskatoon, Canada, Julia grew up in a family of musicians and music educators, making her debut with the family jazz quartet at age 12. After spending many years working and teaching in Western Canada, Julia and her husband, bassist/arranger Adam R Jones, moved to Portland in 2015.

Pacific Sound Collective is an original instrumental band comprised of some of the top players from Vancouver's jazz, classical, hip-hop and funk/soul scenes. Since its inception in 2011 the band has been continuing to craft its unique sound and live show while developing a following of devoted fans. 

 The music of Pacific Sound Collective draws on a wide scope of inspiration which includes the rich orchestrations of David Axelrod and Isaac Hayes, the neck-breaking beats of J Dilla and Madlib, the soulful grooves of The Menahan Street Band and El Michels Affair, and the complex syncopation's of Fela Kuti and Tony Allen. These influences are distilled through a unique west coast perspective producing an expansive and evocative sound.

2014 marks the release of the band's upcoming inaugural Ep, “Mai 68”. Recorded at Farm Studio’s in Vancouver by producer Will Howie (Brasstronaut, Turning Point Ensemble), the Ep is an exciting introduction to the band’s elaborate sound.
