Thanks to the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco and their Citywide Arts programs that includes Notes for Notes, in their mission to build confidence, creativity, and focus, so that our youth can artistically express themselves and compound skills to build a bright future in Creative Arts.

CeeCee was asked to perform at BGCSF Youth of the Year for the Don Fisher Clubhouse and rather picking the song for her, I let her decide what she wanted to perform and she picked Billie Eilish - Everything I wanted. 

She has such a powerful voice for such a young artist. Im excited to see her musical growth in the years to come."

"Treat Ü Right" is 16-year-old Lay Doh's first original song. The song started in the studio, with Lay Doh showing me the lyrics and chord progression he wrote on guitar. Shortly after, quarantine came into effect and the song found it's completion through N4N Digital, with multiple online recording sessions using Soundtrap and Zoom.

 I have learned now that thematic ideas and personal experiences are my biggest source of inspiration in terms of the topic for the lyrics. I am most productive in short bursts during the witching hours! My choral background comes in handy when trying to add layers of harmonies and effects to see what is compatible with the melody. 
     I was a little skeptical when I was first introduced to the Hip Hop/Rap genre, but I have grown quite fond of it, bad words and all ;). So, I wanted to give these “sick beats” a shot just for fun, knowing that even if it didn’t go well, hopefully, it would crack someone up. 
     One of the biggest challenges was learning how to navigate the musical software. Due to COVID, the new program had to be accessible from home. It was frustrating at first, because I had the tune, lyrics, and beat but didn't know where to go from there. Mr. Price has been extremely supportive and patient throughout, and I am extremely grateful for all his lessons. He has taught me not to shy away from the more technical side of music-making, and in doing so, he enabled me to take charge and experiment with different effects. Over time, I have come to feel more comfortable with the features, and that has motivated me to take risks when “mixing” the track. Slowly, the vision comes to life.
