They say, "Hey, kid, you're a little too young and a little too dumb to see that life is just a little too short, there's a time and a place to chase dreams." Well I guess if you listen that's fine, but honestly I've got my doubts, 'cause some of us are just a little too wrecked and have the music up a little too loud.

And I, I think I can change. I think I can make something great out of all my mistakes, yeah!

People talk, but they don't see just what they've got inside to bring to the world, 'cause I've been staying up late wishing I could make a difference in the things we all hate.

And I, I know we can all get up when we fall and make something great out of our mistakes.

If you're sick of waiting to lose, then take back your bullshit excuse. No regret, 'cause I bet you didn't want it anyway, you didn't want it anyway. I didn't want it anyway.

Something Great

I couldn't bear the thought of missin' you yet. You got those kinda eyes I'll never forget, no. It's like we were this song that I kept on repeat, and even though you're gone, I still keep to the beat, though sometimes I feel like I can't find the words, but I got this melody that I'm just dyin' to be heard, yeah.

Turn it up, turn it up, 'cause I need somethin' more. Can't shake the feeling that you and I have been here before. How many ways can I say that I'll never stop trying?

I should've told when I had the chance just how I felt about all that we had. I wish I could find my way back to you, 'cause then you could tell me just what to do about the hole in my heart, about the pain in my chest, about my time with a girl that I would never forget.

Bring it back, make it last, every breathe that we take. I wanna finish what I started, but you're so far away. How many ways can I say that I'll never stop trying?

Because I can't stand the way that we came undone, I'll set fire to the bridge that held us up so we can fall all over again, yeah, fall until your walls come crashin' in. I don't mean to be a bother, but I'm not one to give up. If you could just look past all of the things that I've done, then I swear I'll be there, yeah, we can make it work this time. I Said I'd Try

I can't stand the way that you're acting like everything's fine, how you just turn your back when we're falling, we're falling. So if you can live with the damage you've done, by all means continue this road that you're on.

You're always talkin', like you hate how things are, but you don't do a damn thing to change them at all. That's what happens when you turn back that shoulder.  It kills me to say this: You're just getting colder.

I won't hide what you do to me, but you don't feel nearly anything. This is war, sometimes you gotta fight for what you want the most.

I wish I could shatter our world as we know it, and put back the pieces so we don't feel broken, but changing our lives takes a little conviction, so quit playing games and just make a decision now.

Bring it back again.

I mean honestly, you say you want this, and you need this, and nothing else even matters. Well if that's true, then stop waiting around, stop being stagnant. Get up and make a change for yourself, and do it right now!

This Is War

You're taking me back to a place I'd forgotten, to mistakes that I made and rooms that are haunted with the ghost of who I once was, a person I swore I would never become. So please forgive me if I speak words better left behind my teeth, but you're no damsel in distress, you're just the girl who made the mess.

(And she said,) "Take my hand and you won't regret it, so just close your eyes and sing for me, sing for me." I've got to get her out of my head before all that is left is the promise I never kept.

I can't control myself, she's got a way of making the beat in my chest feel so damn close to breaking. So if it's all the same to you, let me explain just what you do: You pull me close, I taste your skin, I forget who I am again.

Damsels

I feel like I'm about to burst at the seams, breakin' under the pressure of these trivial things. Why can't I just be content with the moment, with the life, with the skin I'm in? I'm so sick of the noise, it's like I can't even breathe. I think I'm losing my mind, I think I'm ready to see you people in a different light, so show me what you look like in black and white.

Maybe I'm the imposter, but you're all the same. Maybe I'm just a liar when there's no one to blame. So what do you want me to say? You know I'll never listen to anything, anything you say, 'cause no one is honest.

Oh, no. It's seems I've been brought forward to explain everything you've heard about me. Let's put the rumors to rest, shall we? The Imposter

I remember nights full of silent conversations, and how I swore my life that I'd never let you down. And if I could take it all back, then I swear I would, but all I'm thinking right now is I wish I could...

Scream the words on my tongue, but it's a hell of a climb to the top of your lungs. Just breathe, I'll tell you whatever you need me to say to prove that I'll get better.

It's never too late to make a change, I tell myself that and hope that things won't stay the same. It's something I never got the nerve to say, but maybe you'd listen if I told you every day how I...

Can't you see? I'm trying whatever you need me to do to put this back together.

Don't you dare look back. Give me one more chance. And if you just let me in, I'll give all I can give, you can count on me.

I swear that I'll scream the words on my tongue. If I have to, I'll climb to the top of my lungs. What this means: We'll push through whatever, but one thing's for damn sure. I know that I'll never... Whoa!

Baby, can we get a little closer? Or if not, can we just start all over? I've wanted you ever since you walked in the room. It's not me, this can't be what I'd hoped to find, but it will all make sense in due time.

A Little Closer

I look at you, and then voices are raised. When your heart's made of stone, things just turn out that way. I can't think, I can't breathe, yeah, I'm gasping for air. You see me falling, but you just don't care. I see your hopes and mine bursting at the seams, and we've given up on each of our dreams. You look at me, and we don't make a sound. You say, "Swear that you're not going down."

Well I tried, but I failed and it all fell apart. When we said, "good bye," the words broke my heart. Together, I know we could take on the world, but I can't stay with you. I'm sorry, I'm not gonna change.

This whole charade has become a disaster, and I'm always hating these questions and answers.
