ØEN Records is back with a special two track EP from up and coming Copenhagen based producer Fruit (@fruitdj). Originally from Iceland, but based in Denmark, Fruit has been making waves in the Copenhagen club scene with his eloquent DJ and live-sets. Following up his acclaimed 2019 Drømmeland EP he is finally back with two epic, fast-paced and euphoric tracks to light up the summer dance floors.

Drawing inspiration from myths and legends and particularly the Epic of Gilgamesh – a 4000 year old poem from ancient Mesopotamia – “Gilgamesh” is a hypnotic and trancey trip destined for the peak hours of the post-corona parties.

Created during the peak of the pandemic on an old half broken borrowed MacBook, the two distinct but kindred tracks are testament to Fruits unique production style, effortlessly navigating between euphoric fast-paced house, ambient soundscapes, hypnotic percussion and haunting atmospheres. Skillfully crafted and executed “Gilgamesh” is primed for both floor and mind.

Spray retires the eponymously, to instead seek Punctuality; a new label for ‘dastard club elegies in the dark’ hosted by the maestro himself. Blu:sh clocks in to provide the imprint’s inaugural extended player with U is for U and me, a pentagonal suite of nocturnal seductions for ‘U’, our dear listener, from ‘he’, its rosy-cheeked conductor.

B is for Blu:sh (sometimes Benoit B and Terra Utopia), a froward node in the artist’s trilateral soul whose previous charm offensives for Roza Terenzi’s Step Ball Chain and Rey Colino’s Kalahari Oyster Cult under the alias signalled the arrival of a new challenger to the ‘hits parade’. U is for U and me provides distinct variations on the theme of ‘club allure’, five tracks of sparkling body music that captivate in its relentless drive for kinetic salvation.

“A quick glance at the watch, and they’re off!”
AM PM strikes first more night than day, its throbbing bass line locks shoulders with precision rhythms within its psychedelic landscape. Whirlwind Mindsets is sassier, opting for more bump while the track’s aural mesh is grazed by sharp textures of live wires and melodious bleeps.  

“… and they get back under way!”
Magnetized Your Soul soundtracks the self-actualisation of sonic sophistication, applying the rave pressure with a current of discordant pads and haunted vocals bound by twisted attraction. Pixelated Pleasure Dome is pure sleaze, a wiggle-fested romp of leering subs and thunderous groove of pure self-indulgence. High In Cloud City offers the finale of heads-down speedy exuberance with faint breaks and non-stomp pump right up until curtain call.

Berlin’s Hypersoft collective kick off their new label with a 15-track VA raising
funds for trans youth and a launch party at OHM.

The collective, run by Berlin and London-based DJs TPR and DJ TEETH, emerged onto the scene in 2022 and is known for balancing breakthrough and established artists from the new school of the progressive landscape with legends and innovators of the scene, a resident lineup that includes Cromby, Bambi and Bliss Inc. and guests ranging from Sunju Hargun and Spekki Webu to nd_baumecker and Jane Fitz.

Their first release as a label follows the same principle: Adam Pits, Angel D’lite,
Bliss Inc., Cromby, D. Tiffany & Dugong, DJ TEETH, Desire, Dylan Forbes, E-Talking, Eoin DJ, Frederik Tollund, Inner Zone, Kasper Marott, Lisene and Running Hot all contribute to a VA that represents the nexus point where multiple axes of the current club landscape converge. Berlin label SEVEN announce their fourth EP release courtesy of rising local talent Posture and Sparkly Pony. Sweat Repetition, featuring remixes from 131bpm and Eoin DJ, arrives 28th March on vinyl and all platforms via SEVEN. Launched in 2024 by Berlin artist CRYME, queer and FLINTA-leaning label SEVEN play at the tantalising intersection of house and techno with their unique brand of uplifting, genre-defying sounds that speak to the heart of the global underground. Much more than a label, SEVEN is a movement - fostering community, highlighting underrepresented voices and redrawing industry standards with transparency and integrity. In just a year the label is already being recognised as a vital force on the electronic music scene with a keen eye for next gen talent, and with Sweat Repetition from Posture and Sparkly Pony as their fourth release it’s clear to see why.

Australian born DJ, producer and queer/ trans collective ‘Cuties’ co-founder, Toby Perks (she/her) aka Posture is the dance-floor diva of your dreams. Since making Berlin her base in 2022, she’s been a familiar face leading the dance at all of the city’s best underground parties and clubs from Tresor to Amina at Else. Renowned for soul-enriching sets of all flavours, from sun-soaked euphoria to sultry late night gems, whether she is DJing or producing her talent for igniting the mood is unmatched.

For Sweat Repetition, Posture teams up with fellow Berlin party-starter, DJ and master of captivating grooves, Sparkly Pony. Co-founder of queer collective SWEAT since 2014 and a DJ since teenagehood, Sparkly Pony made his way to Berlin via the Swedish and Danish club scenes where he quickly made his mark. On their new collaborative EP, over five tracks (including blistering edits from Ireland’s Eoin DJ and dance-floor troublemaker 131bpm) the duo dive into laid-back, soothing soundscapes combined with energetic drum workouts that will have sweat dripping on repeat.

Closing us out is Irish producer Eoin DJ with their delightful ‘Stretch & Repeat’ edit. Brimming with buoyant rave energy, dynamic drumwork and quirky sonic details, Eoin delivers the goods with this belter of a remix that transforms the mellower sensibilities of the original into a peak-time pumper.

This glorious EP is a must-listen showcase of two one-to-watch rising talents in Posture and Sparkly Pony, Sweat Repetition. Expertly balancing soft and hard across five excellent tracks, the goods are delivered time and again. Another immaculate release from SEVEN whose star continues to ascend as they bring the creme of Berlin’s queer club sonics to the global stage.
