A propos de JOE : About Joe : The story of the song...

JOE est une chanson que j’ai écrite (Benjamin) à l’époque de mon premier Rock band, MISTRAL. Nous l’avons reprise avec MÉNAGE À TROIS, puis je l’ai jouée sur scène avec BenJ & The BIN’S, et bien d’autres de mes diverses formations...Je l’ai enregistrée sur mon album solo « COMME » (version synthétique) et la voilà à nouveau sur SOMBRES ILLUMINÉS de Groupe de NouX ! (toutes ces versions et leurs vidéos sont à votre disposition sur soundcloud.com/noux-blaplace)

Pourquoi ? ??

Outre que ce soit paraît-il une bonne chanson, elle est aussi hélas le symbole d’une perte chère et d’une époque particulière... Elle s’intitule JOE mais aurait dû ou pu s’appeler OLIVIER. Un quasi-membre du groupe à qui l’on doit la pochette du single UNISEX de MISTRAL. Graphiste de talent voué à une belle carrière, Olivier a succombé à une overdose d’héroïne un jour d’hiver gris Paris qui pointait vers un printemps qu’il ne verrait jamais. En mémoire et en symbole, je joue toujours ce titre, pour me souvenir de lui, alors que cela aurait pu être moi, le chanteur, le bassiste ou notre chanteuse qui était sa Chérie... à Vie. Son cœur s’est brisé et le lendemain de son décès, nous partions (Mistral) sombres, jouer et enregistrer à Amsterdam. The show must go on ! 😢Ça nous a pris bien trop longtemps pour arrêter ce que nous appellerons bientôt le « COOCOO POISON »le poison fou). Titre phare de Mà 3.

Instrumental work for a  next  NouX ! piece. Also it's music i wrote for a movie i would love to watch, or dream that one day it will exist :)Any specific ideas ? A suivre.

I love composers who sometimes do minimalist music. Most of the time, it's wrote for piano. Best exemples are Debussy, Satie, not so many, and you'll hardly find many pieces wrote for Guitars. I'm gonna go further in that way. Continue that piece "For the LuV @ Guitars xXx" and others. I already have few pieces which need to be worked. I record this one very fast, so i apologize for the "approximative" sounds of Guitars, but I don't know why, theses days, it's like emergencies ; I work hard on ideas, and i feel like recording them, and share... Thanks for listening!

Benjamin vient du Rock. Au début des années 80, il est d’abord le leader, guitariste, auteur/compositeur du groupe Mistral (rock tendance énervée, PunK) avec lequel il enregistre deux albums pour des majors. Avec le premier album « Sexy Beau » (Pathé Marconi) et des titres comme « Les Fils de l’acier » et « C’est si facile », il se constitue un public fidèle et tourne avec U2, Talking Heads, Scorpions, INXS, etc. Le single « Unisex »  s’invite dans les Charts et lui ouvre une fenêtre sur l’international. A la fin de Mistral, il a le plaisir de collaborer avec PRINCE, durant trois mois, pour le tournage d’« Under The Cherry Moon ». Une expérience Musicale et Cinématographique ave le Prince de la POP ! C’est à Londres, ensuite, qu’il forme Ménage à Trois (deux hommes et une machine, New Wave) ; Amsterdam, Paris, Nice, partout en Europe.
