Really enjoyed this. I am now thinking about collective joy and individualization during the pandemic. Locked in ur home we were desperate for connection and belonging. We reached out via zoom chats, parties and met our neighbors sometimes for the first time, via WhatsApp mutual aid groups. Lots of people saying how much they loved that, how having the time to do that was one of the positive experiences of the pandemic. What can be learn from that? We did not just sit on our own homes on our individual phones, we did that too but we were desperate for connecting with others, with people we did not know. Why? What can we learn from this to help us create collective joy in political activism? Individualization is to such an extent that we need to find ways to balance our want for individual space, time, needs and desires with our need to belong, connect and care for each other..
