A selection of music journeys I created at my mobile home-studio at various locations around the world, and shared as a guest DJ-set on various podcasts and channels on Soundcloud. 

These tend to be more planned-out and well-executed than my "live" sets, and they often include very long transitions which are mini-mashups.

Nowananda's Guest Music Journeys (Newest at the bottom)

A special slower sexier "Snake Charmer" edition of Ecstatic Dance, played live at "Dissolve Ecstatic Dance", Dreamscape, Pai Thailand.

This was a challenging journey to create, as i had to stay generally low-tempo and low-intensity, include some songs without words, and still create peaks of intensity, and all of this with mostly afro music.

I've prepared and practiced for over 2 days, and was still working during the ecstatic dance setup and warm up.

It turned out to be one of the best journeys I've played, and the energy was strong with the 100+ dancers who hardly left the dance floor, and supported by the professional sound system.

Some Highlights:

- A few Jazz songs, including a cover of Sting's Walking on the moon and a song by the late Japanese Hip-Hop artist Nujabes
- "Afro Sambroso" - Afro-folk masterpiece by Dele Sosimi 
- "Abo Mvelo" - One of the best Amapiano songs I know, and I let it play for over 5 minutes
- "Winyo Nungo" - A slow but intense Afro-Tribal song by Coco Em, which is largely unknown 
- A few songs by Juls Baby from Ghanna/London. "Afrobeats" doesn't do justice to his musicality, arrangement and groove.

This is my 2nd "Snake Charmer" musical dance journey, which was featured as episode #165 on the popular "Deep Control" Podcast.

From their Blurb:

Nowananda is life-long dancer and music collector, who has been passionate about electronic music since the early 90s.
He is influenced by growing up in a multi-cultural family, playing classical piano for 7 years, traveling and living in South-East Asia most of his adult life, as well as the study and practice of Tantra, Yoga, healing and body/energy work.
He has played in Koh Phangan (Thailand,), Bali (Indonesia), and in festivals in Europe.
Nowananda weaves together Ethnic, Indian, African, Amazonian, Afro-Latin, Balkan, Neo-Classical and World music into music journeys that invoke the mystic, the lover and the animal within us.

I usually like to play stuff that is more obscure, and i don't regularly use tracks with a lot of English lyrics.

I had a great time in Breda doing what I love doing the most - holding the whole evening from start to finish -ceremony, DJ set, sound healing and closing circle.

I bring over 15 years of experience of meditation, yoga, sacred sexuality, coaching and workshop facilitation into the spaces I hold.

I find that when I hold the whole evening, it makes for a deeper journey, more harmonious and with better integration of the experience.

Marty Boger, the organizer, was kind and flexible enough to allow me to change the lights and some of the elements in the space, and the result was an AMAZING ecstatic dance evening, where we experienced sacredness, softness, sensuality, raw-ness, connection, Ecstasy and stillness.

It was such an honour to share my music medicine for my dear friends and family in the most magical of places that we have been calling home for the last 4 months ~ The Crystal Castle. ✨💎

This set was completely improvised in the moment... trusting the flow and the energy that wanted to come through. Also, the recording has been left raw and un-edited. I'm still learning a lot, and I'm happy to share the (sometimes messy) process.

Janax Pacha and I have come together with our creative artistic abilities to create this unique and powerfully vibrational experience. Combining the organic and shamanic Live Looping style of Janax Pacha with a refined sonic aesthetic, we are exploring new dimensions of possibilities live sets. This set is completely live and improvised in the moment, feeding off the energy of our surrounding and audience... it is a completely new experience every time.

We performed this set recently together at the beautiful Tree House Tulum, where the jungle meets the ocean under the moon and stars. This music is a pure reflection of our essence as humans and artists, both individually and together. We are mirrors of each other and of you.

I'm inspired by growing up in a multi-cultural family, playing classical piano for 7 years, life-long dancing and music-collecting, 20 years of traveling, and an extensive study, practice, and teaching of tantric yoga, personal development and conscious business.

I weave traditional, popular, organic and electronic music from cultures and ethnic groups around the world into dance journeys that invoke the mystic, the lover and the animal within us.
