Before 2020 took us to the upside down. I  was selected alongside 13 creative womxn to take part in a weeks residency with @delia-derbyshire-day and @brightersound. This mix is inspired by An Electric Storm by White Noise (1969). We celebrated 50 years of this album by exploring what an electric storm meant to us. So with my 1st mix, I wanted to explore my favourite(last) track on the album. This was Black Mass(Electric Storm In Hell). I imagined earth being unravelled back words and anarchy  being created in the studio, when An Electric Storm was made. Throughout the mix, I wanted to channel that anarchy to see how I can push boundaries with electronic music more and to create an orchestrated chaos.  Enjoy! Let me know what you think.

Both Sides Now: Electric Storm was a residency inspired by electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire, and White Noise’s 1969 seminal album An Electric Storm.

In Jan 2020 14 of the North’s most innovative music creators, producers and digital artists worked alongside Delia Derbyshire Day artists, with special access to the Delia Derbyshire Archive held at The John Rylands Library, to create their own ‘Electric Storm’ which premiered on 24 Jan at an exclusive sharing at Spirit Studios.

This recording is taken from the second performance on 9 Mar as part of Sounds Like THIS Festival at Leeds Conservatoire.
